First Thing: How can this guy love his rabbits and keep them in these small cages!?! Second: You. Never. Turn. A. Rabbit. On. Its. Back! I explain what he did. He was massaging his/her neck. This is a spot where rabbis stop moving if you trigger it. It's an instinct and more like a shock because it ,,reminds'' thei instinct on beeing caught by an eagle for example or by their mother. In both cases the get moveless. Then lying on the back of course gets them still because they get a shock because they are completely helpless. This ,,absolute relaxation" is nothing but fear of death.
Almost all bunnies ive raised respond the same way. He's putting so much strain on the rabbit's back! no point having 50 rabbits when all of them are confined in tiny spaces
The rabbit is actually in a state of shock ... if you do research you'll find that this method was originally thought to put the rabbit in a state of relaxation but recent research shows that rabbit actually goes into a state of shock in that position. I know it's a debated subject, and this state can be useful in some cases such as nail clipping and grooming, but is not preferred by many people.
