Some things really do just seem like destiny. First puppet Steve ever tried to build as a kid was Kermit, it was his high school nickname, Jim’s wife scouted him out and he has the same birthday as Jim Henson himself. It’s like he was truly born for the role
Gotta hand it too Fran brill🩷 the 1st👩🏻🦱puppeteer for Praire Dawn, Bettie Lou, or their varieties and course Zoe👍 (but not with ‘Rocco’🪨 🙂↔️👎which made us besides Elmo dislike when Zoe is the problem not the rock😂)
At 11:13 I was expecting Rosie to say "Do you have a frog in your throat?" and Piggy to come back with "Let's just do the song and leave my private life out of it."
I wish Jim Henson, Richard Hunt, and Jerry Nelson were alive today and I would've loved to have their autographs at a comic con, even Jim would've had loads of fun bonding with his grandkids
I met him a few times when I was a young child and even then I could sense that there was something very wrong about the guy. He gave me the creeps, a very creepy guy. I remember thinking: "this guy is an absolute weirdo, he's not a man at all". He was also so waspish, sarcastic and tricky.
@danielgudinojuarez6729, I don't think they'll do that? Eric took all over Frank's Muppet characters he played including Guy Smiley, one the charcters Jim Henson played and Oscar the Grouch, one of Caroll Spinney's characters.
I completely completely forgot at the same time surprised that Dave also does voice acting outside The Muppets. Really the only voice acting role that I remembered him doing outside of The Muppets was voicing Figment the Dragon from Epcot i forgot he made a cameo in Inside Out and i never even knew he voiced for StoryBots.
Same here! Growing up with the Muppets, I never paid attention to just the voices anyway. How else do you think I would’ve fallen in love with the characters?
GLAD I didn't see that movie, "The Happytime Murders" . So sue me for being old school but Muppets swearing takes them out of their world and puts them in ours. I don't even wanna be in our world some days.
I vaguely recall when Elmo had a deep voice that just didn't work for him. Thankfully, Kevin took him in a better direction. If I'm not mistaken, he also briefly worked with Miss Piggy but then turned her management over to Frank Oz. The rest, as they say, is history. Kevin IS right about how we see the characters. Even as adults, we might be more familiar with the actors, but we still respond to the characters. I'd just as soon talk to Oscar the Grouch, or Hoots the Owl or, or Cookie Monster the poor guy who never got to eat when Grover was his waiter. There's a feeling of INNOCENCE about it. Just getting away from 'real life' for a bit.
Frank Oz was the principal performer for Miss Piggy for over 25 years (1976-2002); Kevin was her operator in Muppet Treasure Island, but Frank still did the voice, dubbing it in in post-production.
@@ptorq Clash also puppeteered Oz's other characters in that movie, with Oz dubbing them in post-production. But there actually was one time Oz came on set to play Miss Piggy against Tim Curry's character. Clash also voiced Sam the Eagle in It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie , with the actual puppetry done by John Kennedy.
WAKE UP BABES NEW REACH YOUR HAND UP HIGH JUST DROPPED!!! An incredibly put together tribute as always, I was so excited to see this in my recommended :D
