Be sure that KAAN will be a great plane in 2028. The KAAN plane is a valuable but expendable product for TUSAS. Experience is enough….. The factory and people who made this made +420 F16s in 20 years. They built the small jet HürJet and flew it. They built the propeller-driven HürKuş plane, flew it and sold it to 5 countries. They built and sold 150 "Anka" and "Aksungur" male class unmanned aerial vehicles. They built 140 "Atak" attack helicopters and sold them to 5 countries. They flew the delta wing Anka 3 unmanned aerial vehicle... Now they are making KAAn. And KAAN, rest assured, this is not the first jet they made. The 500th jet plane built by KAAN ...
KF-21 'Boramae' successfully conducted its first live fire of the medium-range air-to-air missile 'Meteor' on May 8. According to the defense industry on the 8th, the KF-21 equipped with Meteor took off from Sacheon Airport at 11:45 am on this day and waited in the air, successfully launched at 12:20 pm and returned at 12:47 pm. With this, the Boramae became the world's fourth fighter jet to successfully conduct a Meteor live-fire, following the Eurofighter, Rafale, and Gripen. Previously, Boramae successfully conducted an armament separation test for the Meteor test projectile last year. The live fire was carried out by tracking the unmanned aerial vehicle 87km away with the AESA (active electronically scanned array) radar mounted on the aircraft and firing a Meteor to pass by within 1m next to the unmanned aerial vehicle. With the successful live-fire of the Meteor, the KF-21 proved its long-distance detection and shoot-down capabilities. On May 2nd, KF-21 broke through Mach 1.8 for the first time, faster than the US F-35. It is equipped with 40% domestically produced engines from the US aircraft carrier F-18 Super Hornet, and its instantaneous thrust is equivalent to the pulling force of 44,000 horses. So far, the aircraft's stability and missile operation have been tested by flying at low speeds of 400 to 800 km per hour, and it was confirmed that the aircraft's maximum speed of Mach 1.8 was exceeded for the first time during a test flight on the 2nd. Mach 1.8, which is nearly twice the speed of sound, is 2,200 km/h, which is faster than not only the domestically produced fighter FA-50, but also the F-35A, a strategic asset of our Air Force introduced from the United States.

f16 is a single engine 4th gen multipurpose aircraft. Kaan is air superriority/dominance aircraft with 2 engines which also have ground attack capabilities. May be you can say, new f15 or new f4 but its nothing like f16. Just read a bit before writing.
KAAN is a jet plane that is still in the testing phase. Except for its engines, its entire existence is suitable for the 5th generation. But let's say it is only a 4 generation aircraft like the F16. So what's the harm in this? After all, Türkiye has produced its own war jet. Can you name 10 countries in the world that produce their own fighter jets and jet engines? There are a total of 208 countries in the world. And only the USA, Russia and France can produce both jet aircraft and jet engines. China, India, Italy and Japan can produce jet engines with the help of partnerships. Türkiye has set a goal for itself and by 2030, the entire process, including the jet engine, will be 100% local. Let's wait and see.

We knew this was coming. Perhaps a major reason for so many European nations going with the F-35. It's a gravity bomb, not unlike a J-dam, at a guess. Almost zero training required as to the standard training for J-dams probably covers it. So the nations with the F-35 can go to 'benign, non-nuclear powers to nuclear powers in, what, two weeks or so? Putin must be doubling his vodka intake right now. :)
Without any doubt, this will make the F35A more deadly.....especially when it is able to evade detection using its stealth capability...But then again, against a peer competitor, I don't see much of an advantage? Firstly, it has limited range unlike the B2, B21 and B52. Secondly it is not the most effective nuclear warhead delivery system? Amongst the 3 existing nuclear warhead delivery system, which are land, sea and air, the so-called nuclear triads, I would say the most effective is sea using submarines. Last but not least, Russia and China already have the capability to detect and target stealth fighters/bombers. My conclusion is that this is not a game-changer. However, Russia's Poseidon Nuclear Drone is. So are the hypersonic missiles which the US is now playing catch-up?

@@stolly27 China's J35 and J20 are designed more for air-combat against F35, F22 , B2, B21 and especially American air refuel tankers/AWACS. They are interceptors with long range in both distance and air to air missiles. If the F35A carries nukes, then it is no longer playing the role of an interceptor but rather an strategic bomber albeit the F35 is supposed to be a multi-role fighter aircraft. In an air combat scenario, of course stealth is an additional advantage and since China has the technology, why not use it? Furthermore, China can do it cheaply as it does not need to reinvent the wheel like the US? It probably stole the technology from the US? On a common sense level, ask yourself this simply question? If China perceive the US to be a clear and present danger to its very survival, will it not do everything within its power to counter this threat? That's why for the last 10 years, the Chinese design their weapon systems to do just that and they have succeeded. Do you honestly think the Chinese will dare to challenge the US in all sphere of influence if they have not achieved parity with the US?
as far as I know these bombs are constructed with multiple safetly mechanics that prevent detonation without intent. They have to be detonated with intent. You could drop them from the sky to the ground and they would not detonate, because the necessary initial "ignition" i.e the critical mass for the chain reaction of the bomb will never be met unless the two parts of the bomb get connected by intent. They are seperated within the bomb so even if the explosives get triggered and the bomb explodes, it would never set off the chain reaction of the uranium. Thats my knowledge though, I could be wrong.
Everything China builds is sh…… This is another copy from from another country like everything else they build china does not want to invest in technologies like the west did in order to become what the west is now but took centuries in the contrary china pushes to be a superpower in just a few decades by -forces intellectual property transfer from foreign companies and then copies them since they are unable to invent anything and what they produce is of shoddy quality: all gadgets made in china do not last and need to be replaced after a few uses -debt traps entire nations -forces organ transplants -oppresses its own nice productive citizen We the western world need to reverse and accelerate the outsourcing of our economy to china and companies which refuse need to be boycotted -imagine shipping resources to china and than shipping back manufactured goods it is an environmental crime globalization only serves the shareholders and not the consumers since replacing the shoddy products once or twice.... is much more costly
