Its really bizarre I haven't really seen any other BSG character get picked up for other famous series or movies, except Katie Sackhoff with Star Wars and Grace Park.
There's that one bar line Tory says to Anders (before they figure out who they are), where she says "let us not talk falsely, now," in the middle of the conversation, and it's the cringiest forcing of the lyrics into the dialogue. I'm so glad Kara didn't say "all along the watchtower."
One of the great interactions in the entire show: Lee: "Now, if you'll excuse me... I have a date with a jump rope." Adama: (looks up, with more than a little skepticism) Lee: "Hey, I've dropped half a stone." Adama: "Keep jumpin' ..." LOL
Am I the only one that didn't think the decision to shoot the Olympic Carrier was a tough one? It seemed easy to me, even if you saw people in the windows like originally planned. The Cylons follow you for ~230 jumps. This ship gets left behind, and the cylons don't come back. Then the ship magically appears, says one bit to Adama, then goes on radio silence while flying directly into the fleet. The ship never responded to their radio communication, or to visual communication after that. It did not keep a distance. It went silent and headed straight for the fleet. Even before "they have a nuke", and "I don't see anyone in the windows", I was thinking they should be shooting it down. Imagine if you're in a ship and you go on radio silence and just start sailing directly into an Aircraft Carrier. There'd be no question.
But this wasnt a normal situation regarding approaching a military vessel without permission. These were the last remaining people of an entire civilization. You want to make dam sure you are not ordering the death of 2% of your population because of faulty communications or say a jump drive equipment failure etc. By removing the people in the windows it basically spells out "More is going on here than faulty equipment, its tragic but you need to fire!"
When I watched the first BSG, Apollo was my fave. And in revamped version, again my fave was Apollo. They both did amazing job , loved their scenes together.
Watch from 9:51 to the end. Michael Trucco has a great Mic Drop moment on Jamie Bamber, and it is very funny. But then Jamie claps back shortly after when Michael starts talking about working with Tippy Hedren. Good stuff.
Wonderful to hear Richard’s praise of Jamie’s performance as Apollo. Very touching to hear how positive the 2003 BSG experience was for him and sad that he’s now passed away.
James was talking about a honey trap. When I was at a real estate seminar nearly 15 years ago, one of the main women there, probably in her 20's, was very alluring, low cut bra-line, blonde. She obviously dressed like that to "sell" the seminar. Or did she just happen to normally dress like that? I noticed some guys talking to her during breaks. Even I got to talk to her, about some seminar question. Call it advertising strategy, "sex sells" or whatnot, but I immediately aware of what was going on. I didn't even know the term "honey trap" until just now in this video clip. I will call it that from now on when I recognize that subliminal tactic again. Thanks James! Oh and guess what seminar that was? It was a Donald Trump University real estate seminar, which was found out to be a fraud years later. Trump put his name & face on it. He settled the lawsuits a couple years ago, long after he was found out. Apart from that, it's now been over a hundred years since Mata Hari (stage name) was executed by firing squad.
I am glad they removed the passengers for the ship they shot down...that would have been too emotional 😭 and hard to watch Lee execute (although it was the right decision since the ship wouldn’t stop). But when Lee made his closing argument speech for Baltar’s trial, it would given context on how the President pardoned everyone else for questionable decisions but wanted to punish Baltar. Great show and I am glad I have Blue Ray edition so I can watch it whenever I want to.
I LOVEd Baltar's ending. It's odd that I kept seeing a light in his character that even the actor refused to see -- which is rare among performers, who are often biased toward their characters. It's admirable, in a way. Thanks for uploading.
And when they first jumped in the mini series they showed Callie say “I hate this part” and brace herself, so people in the ships experience a physical reaction during the jump that I imagine that it would be difficult to sleep through.
