@@RugbyLeagueHistory thanks mate for listening. Probably my number one Uk 🇬🇧 listener. Just shows you the importance of routine for big occasions doesn’t it.
I don't think that there is really much difference between Moses and Gutherson as captain. Both of them have the same temperament to me or attitude. At the moment I don't think we have any other candidates that are suitable for captain so Moses might be put as captain and Gutherson would be vice captain.
I met Terry Hill at Flemington Markets. It was great seeing, meeting and talking to the man himself. We had lots of banter, back and forth. Overall he had an awesome character.
It looked like the Gold Coast had a game plan of attacking Lorenzo Mulitalo and Tago which worked for them. I guess Parramatta did well to come back after being 18-0 down but still.....it's another loss.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory yes it probably was as well which is smart considering one was making his debut and one had played only one game. Parra did ok to comeback from 18 nil down but in the NRL you can’t be doing that and winning games.
@@theparracavepodcast I think it were after the 2021 finals series loss to Penrith or maybe earlier (I forget), but I said that Brad Arthur had done a good job but he just couldn't get us to that next level. At the time I suggested Shane Flanagan should be approached as he wasn't with anyone at that time, a lot of people were against it saying "We don't want a druggie coaching us" and all this stuff. Well look now, Flanagan has got a St. George team who have a far worse roster than ours playing better.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory agree I rate Shane Flanagan as a coach. There were more people involved at the time at the Sharks but your right what a job he has done this year with the Dragons.
Absolutely 💯 too long between drinks. It will be difficult as it always is but I think because it has been so long since NSW won a decider up there it will change especially if NSW play the way they did in Melbourne and take the crowd out of it.
Melbourne 💯 knew about the salary cap breaches in terms of the players knowing. There was a few players including Cronk, Slater, Smith etc who all signed two contracts, one with a lower amount which was submitted to the NRL and the real contract they were on. Even if hypothetically they didn't know, you would still realise that you were getting paid more than what you signed on at the time.
Yes this is true that perhaps the players did know they were getting more then what they signed on for but what I was saying that Cronk for example wouldn’t have known what Smith was on as one would assume players wouldn’t divulge that info to each other.
Yeah always love talking to Americans and find out their love of rugby league. I don’t like Melbourne too much either. A team I want to beat all the time.
i came here just to hear his story about that footy card. he says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time..idk i would say opposite, its quite a unique & funny card to have.
We pretty much bottled that game. Up 18-10 with one of their players in the sin bin. We didn't score any points in that period and that were pretty much the turning point for me. Once again as well, there were key errors made by players which cost us dearly. This time it were Cartwright on two occasions.
Although he didn't win a premiership at Norths, I still rate him as North Sydney's best ever head coach. He was there for a long time, has the second best winning percentage as a North Sydney head coach. Some will argue that Chris McKivat were better but that is just my opinion.
You are right there. When Peter was coach although not winning a comp they had success and when I was watching in the 90s they were a constant finals team.
The Parra Cave Podcast is proudly sponsored by Shannon Cooney at Glenmore Park Realty. I know I am probably sounding out the obvious but New South Wales need to win game one more than Queensland I think. Queensland know that they have game 3 in Brisbane and if it goes to a decider they will more than likely win.
It was very good to get the win but it is concerning in a way that our whole season rests on the shoulders of two players and if they are not there we are wooden spoon candidates. I just hope they never get injured again.
This is a must win game for Parramatta. If they don't win it then the club is officially in crisis. If they win, it gives Parramatta a six point buffer between them and Souths which would mean Souths would need to win four games just to overtake them.
Why is the board interviewing applicants with no experience it is a insult this is the last time I am going to say this parra need a elite coach who has won trophy's a english one Shaun wane is the one I would chase him before wayne
With the announcement of Hardie’s today there is a feeling of getting back to success. That also usually means looking in-house for key people. Luke Burt is someone I’m eager to hear about more. He did so well with juniors and Cayless has totally failed in the same position. Burt has history, standing in the club and coaching success. Thoughts?
One could only hope as a Parra Eels fan success will come. In regards to Luke Burt he has done pretty good in the QLD Cup and took our under 20s team to a GF a few years ago. He could be very well a good candidate but even if not head coach could be an assistant at parra and one day fulltime head coach.
