@@SpicyRok7482 I think it encourages putting your hand near the muzzle. That being said I know it can give leverage racking the slide especially when you have a red dot mounted on the slide. I also usually think they're ugly but that's purely subjective and more to personal taste.
S&W Model 52 autoloader chambered 38 Special wadcutters. It was/is a target pistol. Thanks for the review! Aim Surplus has these in stock now - LE trade-ins like Classic had when you recorded this vid. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up but they are still a bargain IMHO at $379
❤ lucky to got last one from a gun store in the 1980s at half of the tag price during a pistol promo, just after a while somebody was asking for 3x as much I paid… yeah, still with me
@@monotech20.14 From what I've seen online Walther aluminum frames whether it's P1s, P5s or P88s have a habit of cracking where the takedown is. I think NATO spec 124gr 9mm is probably fine but I wouldn't feed it a steady diet of +P. I mostly stick with light 115gr range ammo since they're more of collector's items these days.
@@servicerifle16 I see I see. I saw LifeSizePotato's video on the P5 , he said it was designed to handle the hotter ammo. But like you said, that could have meant the NATO ammo.
Simply swapping out the .40 barrel for a 9mm barrel. You may experience some malfunctions due to the differences in the 9mm and .40 breechfaces and magazines however.
It's generally fine to dry fire centerfire firearms, it's really rimfires you shouldn't dryfire much. However I try not to excessively dryfire older guns.
I've spent 31 years with the Correctional Service of Canada, and for many years, our duty sidearm was the S&W Model 10. Because we got our guns from the RCMP, we had the oddball 5" barrel version. Our duty load was Plus P hollow point ammo. Most of our guns had the rubber Hogue or Pachmeyer grips.
I want one badly! I have a 92x and I'm planning on getting a suppressor for that (home defense) I already know how much for more magazines for it and HSTs. My PX4 compact was made in Italy same case too.
Got it from MGW. Match barrels don't come up for sale very often and it was sold out just after I bought mine. I sometimes see .45 and 9mm Match barrels but I rarely see the .40 barrels.
I have a J.C. Higgins model 50 in .30-06. It does well for me. I am pleased with it. There doesn't appear to be too much of a difference between the model 50 and the model 51.
I have owned many of both of these but if I had to choose , I’ll take the P08 any day. The Walther ,I believe ,was the first pistol manufacture to develop the double single action and I do like that feature for carry. But man the Luger fits the hand and points perfectly and the balance is beyond compare. The P08 barrel is attached directly screwed into the top breech which gives it superior accuracy over those with barrels that are held in place by a removable detachable mechanism... so the barrel can move slightly after each shot, however both of these are accurate.. Nice video, thx.
I have a gen1 p99 in 40 s&w made in 1998 it has some molding marks on the front dust cover and on the left side that look like cracks does your p99 have these marks on the frame
He cracked the frame because he likely overtightened the screws when he put the Compensator on. I’ve heard that’s the reason for the frame cracking issue
I have that same Match Weight Compensator. Haven’t tried to put it on yet. Was it easy? Any tips you could give or a quick how to before I try it? I don’t want to scratch it all up. 😂
Thanks for the reply bro. It looks pretty simple but it never hurts to ask someone who’s already done one. I have heard like I said in my other post that if the screws are too tight, you’ll be screwed 😂. Cracked frame is no bueno. Take care 👍
