I represented myself as a defendent in a criminal jury trial. The system can be against you. But by learning the details you can use the system to your advantage. I appeared 22 times for this trial. Many times the judgeband prosecutor called me aside and offered me a deal. I wouldnt take it. I also didnt wave my right to a speecy trial, something almost every defense attorney will do. I even got the judge to say of the prime witness "No, he has proved she is a liar, so he can ask her if she was lying then or now". The jury came back in 10 minutes and found me not guilty.

I represented myself 20 years ago because I charged with assaulting 5 police officers and disorderly conduct. All charges dropped, if I was smarter at the time and know what I do today I would filed a claim in civil court. BP. 2024AD.
I'm 19, I have a court date on the 4th of April. Like any other broke teen, I'm gonna represent myself😂 they have lack of evidence due to the arresting officer failing to give me a breathalyzer on the scene, plus no other things to prove I was drinking while driving.
I asked the Scottish Law Society what guidelines they had in respect of the treatment of party litigants by Scottish solicitors. They forwarded me to one rule a short paragraph. This was in contrast to a 28 page guidelines produced by the Law Society of England for the same issue. The gap in effort to assist party litigants to what and how they are entitled to be treated is nothing short of disgraceful. All solicitors are first and foremost officers of the court and there primary function is to the fair and proper process of justice for all. The race to make obscene profit at any cost throws this expectation into the gutter. Who is supposed to regulate their behaviour? The Scottish Law Society with their single paragraph of effort to maintain a acceptable ethical basis for the fair process of justice. Post Office scandal has highlighted what many already new which is the whole Judicial system is broken and no longer fit for purpose.

In my Adjudication (legal costs dispute) matter not only did my lawyers lie to me time after time and not tender important documents even tho they said they did but Judicial Officers conspired and colluded with my lawyers as well as the 'oppositions' lawyers in the tendering of false documents. You will not see any of the invoices actually sent to me for payment in either Judge or Justice's findings. 78 times an ''invoice'' has been mentioned, 69 of those times its not dated! Only ONCE is it dated - and its the wrong date! It not an invoice but a letter! They all knew it was a false invoice. This is our Supreme Court!

I WILL BE REPRESENTING MYSELF IN JUST TWO SHORT WEEKS. THE COURT SYSTEM TRIED TO MAKE ME FEEL SMALL, DURING MY APPEARANCE BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW ALL OF THE PROCESSES. The way the referee’s and judges talk to you is almost like they are saying “ DUHHHHH, DIDN’T you know all one hundred laws, you IDIOT?” Like how judge Judy talks to people. Thats a real demeanor judges have across the lands, and it’s done intentionally to make you WANT TO HIRE A LAWYER, OR DROP YOUR CASE ALTOGETHER. I DIGRESS. I HAD THREE MONTHS TO STUDY LAW BEFORE MY CASE. MY CASE DEALS WITH domestic VIOLENCE FROM A FAMILY MEMBER. I HAD PHOTO EVIDENCE OF A FEW OCCURRENCES, AND VIDEOS AS WELL. WHEN I FIRST TRIED TO SUBMIT MY EVIDENCE, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO AMMEND MY FIRST PETITION, REWRITE THE WHOLE THING PARAGRAPH BY PARAGRAPH, WITH EACH PARAGRAPH NUMBERED. THEN LIST EVERY EXHIBIT IN THE ORDER THAT IT HAPPENED. ALSO, GIVE APPROXIMATE TIMES AND DATES, FOR EACH OF THE INCIDENTS. LUCKILY, MODERN CAMERA PHONES SHOW YOU THE TIME AND LOCATION OF YOUR PHOTOS. SO THAT PART WAS EASY. I PRINTED OUT 8 photos of bruises, broken glass and other details. I got the affidavit’s all notorized and time stamped, then amended my first petition and resubmitted my updated one with all the dates, and times of the incidents, which was exactly what they wanted. They then accepted my updated petition. I also wrote a letter to the judge and got that notarized, and time stamped. I know with God, I am going to win my case. The process was very intimidating, long and exhausting but well worth it. The legal system will have you running down the halls of the court, knocking on numerous doors, filing out multiple papers,with the same exact info on it, to waste your valuable time and to try to make you feel hopeless in a sensitive situation in your life. They almost got me, but it didn’t work. I didn’t give up. I spent night after night, reading and preparing how I would represent myself. I watched cases on tv and RU-vid. It’s really not as hard as some people are saying it is. The only thing I had to pay for was parking downtown on a few occasions. No more than 5 dollars altogether. Then the cost of printing my own petition, with photo copies from a local printing place, which was about 26 dollars. So, overall, I’ll win my case without a lawyer. The respondent has no lawyer and it’s too late to add one now.Dont let these courts persuade you to dropping your case and not getting any justice. You can and will get it, even if you have to fight for your own. The legal system is rigged, like Donald said. God bless everyone.
