Interesting, I tracked this down after a discussion in a pub about Keith West. Found the soundtrack and was not impressed, it definitely needed visuals to go with it. Then I found this, the sound needs lifting and leveling, at my age I couldn't hear half of it, hey ho a few re runs and I got it. Well done to YMT for staging it. Has it ever been done professionaly and if not could someone get A Lloyd Webber together with Mark Wirtz and Keith West. A slice of English country life on the west end stage ...hmm I'd go to see that
Tried searching for the script, but no luck. Might have made following it a bit easier due to the variable sound quality. NOT a complaint, sound in stage productions like this often do not record well.
Love her to bits because of taskmaster. Shame she got her break because mummy and daddy paid for her to go to school. Sorry. She doesn't deserve my annoyance, she seems like a genuinely nice, kind person, but there's something about a posh middle class person who's never wanted for anything asking us dickheads to donate to her school that irritates me.
Is the character dressed like an old man Grocer Jack? I couldn't hear a lot of the words, I could make out they said Jack died in 1967, so how does he fit into the story?
I've just watched this and it was fantastic, thank you and well done. I've done a tiny bit of am dram myself so i've got an idea of how much work can go into a production like this, since quite a bit of work went into the much smaller productions i was involved in.
Well, I said I was going to watch it all, and I did, and i'm so glad I did, it was a wonderful show! Bravo to all the cast, but John (who I THOUGHT was gonna be Jack, but wasn't, until the twist at the end when it actually turned out it WAS) was a brilliant character, and the young fidgety lad with the union flag t shirt on, he played a great part too :-) Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Great stuff guys and gals. I love Kipling’s poetry and have dedicated Episode 4 of my War Poetry vlog to these poems. So sorry to have missed this. Stay safe and funded! Best wishes, Dr Paul Hodges, Manchester (author of Brutality in the Trenches: British Tommies and Atrocities on the Western Front, 1914-18).
I rate this show as a masterclass in the music, choreography and outstanding performances It should become a national treasure for children and adults everywhere to enjoy
