Your playing is other worldly. As a guitarist that loves this album but can play none of it, it was nice seeing what parts you really grooved too. 11/10
Feels like you're telling story of your "too weird" riff in another Universe, where you've entered a best riff competition somewhere someplace. Fucking INSANEEEEE!
I'm learning Everything Went Black on my 7 string right now. Interesting to see the little differences. You're really good dude BDM is hard enough but to pretty much nail this whole album is really cool. I'd bet its about on par with a live performance from BDM.
I just put this on in the background of playing video games to see these ridiculous riffs being played so effortlessly. learned a few of them from this too. insane skills. cheers!
I listened to this through my DT-770 250ohm with Topping DAC and Amp, trying to find a place where you make mistakes. A lot of covers like this 'hide' behind the backing track a lot. What's crazy is with small differences like the whammy bar you can hear your guitar very clearly, so not only did you cover the entire album nearly perfectly, you also managed to absolutely nail the tone- it comes through here and there when you're off by a tiny beat, and you can hear your tone sounds nearly identical to theirs. Dude, I've seen a lot of Necrophagist covers in my life, I played one of their songs for my high school music final in 2010 (Diminished to B, the easiest one lol)- I know I'm 6 years late to this, but holy shit man well done. This is incredibly impressive.
God damn I love how thematic and thoughtfully put together this album really is. riffs like 44:35, 20:15, 12:26, 3:40 (the harmonies on the ending of the solo **chefs kiss**) 7:09 (where Daves also describing the planet swallowing monster from the album art, my personal favorite, so fuckin heavy) and so many more. All really drive home that creepy sci-fi horror feel to this album. Nether heaven has been my favorite album to just play through top to bottom since its release but there's just something about the outer ones that's always captivating. You sir, absolutely put that Jackson to work. Nice fuckin job dude! seriously inspired me to grab the tab book and tackle this mountain of an album myself. Cheers! 🍻
