Is the bucket better for clearing vs a rake? I got an option on one with a rake but Im scared Im limited..it looks mean but I couldnt move dirt

Imagine how much work we’d get done if track loader’s actually moved as fast as they did in fast forward!😂😂😂

Don’t be fooled by the snow, it’s been unseasonably warm recently. Could’ve ran open cab last couple days. I guess that’s unseasonably warm for where I’m located. Feels like shorts weather.

interesting idea on this tow behind padfoot, it seems like your putting the necessary reinforcement in to make it work safely and effectively, I am not one to criticize others on techniques and how things should be built but one piece of advice is to clean things up before you weld, 7018 doesn't have the cleaning action that 6010 has. A grinder is a welders friend especially when you want something super strong like how your building this. Don't work too hard ✌.

Thanks, i try, but im definitely not a welder. I have a feeling for the first bit of use i'm going to be chasing cracked welds and repairing those until i figure out how to weld on heavier stress points.

It's kind of a crying shame that the track loader is a Dying Breed and they're not using them anymore is like they did 25 years ago
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
They definitely aren't popular and you don't see them around. Especially newer units.

Can do pretty much anything a dozer and an excavator can do. There is still things it can't do, but for an owner operator having a multiple functioning piece of equipment is very important.

pulled one the rome plows with hyd wheels for land clearing after kg pileing the logging debris with a d 7 cat the rome would pull up 8 to 10 inch stumps and spit them out and yes it was a real load for the cat dozer in sand land great plows built tough for new ground breaking their is nothing built this tough

I can agree with you on that, they are very stout. I am trying to find a unit with hydraulic landing gear so i don't have to keep trailering my disc to different job sites. It's a chore to do.

Show us how the foot peddles work
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
Push left pedal while moving and it slows the left track in either direction of travel. So push the foot pedal with what direction you want to steer towards. Opposite of a track hoe where you press the pedal to drive forward.

The small left over willows drive me nuts. They're an inch or so in diameter but there is tens of thousands of them. I wish i could see it once its all hit with a disc. He's not going to have fun picking the rocks the first year. There's hundreds of them just below the surface a couple inches. Frost will push them up now no trees to hold them down. They're not small either, 2-4 foot rocks.

You kept talking about battery dying, look at a Power Bank Hand Grip to mount your camera on. They last for hours on a single charge. I ran mine for 6 hours the other day. Looked very relaxing running that 973 out there in the snow. Cold, but relaxing.
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
What kills the battery is leaving it out in the cold four an hour while I record. Seems it goes out with 80% and comes back in at 15% lol. I try to keep 5% of battery incase something crazy happens.
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
Also, what would make it more relaxing is if it was a D model instead of the C. Many ergonomic improvements made in the new models.

Don't know if you are aware, but in most of the videos you can't be heard. I listen with headphones and I can't catch what you are saying. The audio was better in this vid but still unable to hear your bits of wisdom. I dont think your clients can't complain they aren't getting their money's worth out of you. That machine is nose to the grindstone all the time. Especially here at the 17:40 mark, you have it in high gear. 😎
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
Someone else mentioned it. I think when the fan is on full blast it definitely makes it harder to hear. I’m usually just rambling. So you aren’t missing much. My gopro 5 can’t put a microphone on it. And I’m too lazy to get separate audio recorder. I make these videos every night when I’m done working. Thank you for the compliment on my work ethic.

Great video! Question if I might, I’m along the Texas Gulf Coast and we don’t really have winters like yours. Is it easier to clear when frozen or during the summer months? I’ve watched all you vids and it seems like winter tree and brush removal is a bit easier for the loader to take out. Thanks for the videos.
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
By the way, the only time that we can clear is fall/winter. Spring it’s so wet and soft, when the frost is coming out of the ground. And summer all the crops are in the field so you can’t justify crop loss.
@mikec6831
@mikec6831 Год назад
That’s some pretty tough conditions to operate in! Great video of your day, even a short day. Thanks for sharing.
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
The thing that made it tough was the temperature being so warm still. The snow melts on the windows and the dirt, since its so dry under the organic, gets blown onto the wet windows. Once it gets colder i dont have that issue as much. Thanks for watching.

After using a 973 with all that power and weight, it must be hard to go back to something less powerful? Great vid.
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
I use to run a 963d and a 755k at my old job. Can definitely tell weight was the biggest difference. Those two models have a greater power to weight ratio then my old 973c. But they spin out a lot easier where my 973c would power through it. My old girl had almost 20,000 hours on it so I’m very happy with it overall.

Slow and steady.
@LLImprovement
@LLImprovement Год назад
These old rome discs were designed to be pulled behind a cable cat. Which only had an operating speed of around 3-5mph. So the bearings aren't designed to be spun faster. Plus it gets so rough with how aggressively it cuts the soil. You don't really want to go much faster.
