My girlfriend has a standard black and tan female and a standard brown and tan wire haired male great dogs I love how suspicious they are of strangers and how easy they are to maintain compared to her teacup Shih Tzu that has to go to the groomer every 2-3 weeks... Very loving, loyal and fearless dogs...
Question: all white Americans staffordshire terrier can still be register, i know that but can they compete? Reason being the UKC also shows these dogs and registers them but will NOT allow an all white ones to compete. The AKC website isn't clear, and ive never seen one compete in show.
This is what it says in the American Staffordshire Terrier breed standard, which you can find linked on our AKC breed page: "Color: Any color, solid, parti, or patched is permissible, but all white, more than 80 per cent white, black and tan, and liver not to be encouraged."
I have an idea...let the dogs run free in a wide encircled area to see how long they run without getting tired...without restraint...poor animals...of course they like to run but not long distance. Are the vets on the check points pro Iditarod?
what's the difference between pre-paying, and only purchasing the electronic litter kit? I am in the process of registering my litter, and I don't know which option to choose.
We own a Border collie and would never love a dog any more. I have known friends with Shelties and they are wonderful pets. Only issue is that they bark a lot. They are a beautiful intelligent breed.
Dear American Kennel Club: having flat faced dogs as a standard makes it difficult for them to breathe. Why don't you care about the welfare of these dogs?
Love the license plate on the truck! Why didn't I think of that? My dog truck was registered MUSHR-T in Connecticut. I ran purebred Siberians for twenty years. This video brings back such memories. I participated in Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club's Mannsville Quest at Winona State Forest in New York back in 2007. My team took home the Red Lantern in the four dog class. I was just happy we finished.
@@georgewaters8592 Not so many now as far as I know. Our Connecticut Valley Siberian Husky Club races at one time would draw thirty or more entries in classes up to eight dogs. When I left the sport, entries generally topped out at the four dog level. Does the name Bill Hahn ring a bell with you? He ran teams of all white Huskies in CT, MA, and NH. Becki Tucker, originally from RI but moved to Maine for the longer races there, has reportedly come back to CT recently. I left the sport when my dogs aged out and my knees went bad. On my license plate: MUSHER was already taken. Don't know who owned it but I did see it at a local Target parking lot. I would have done MUSHER-T but at the time Connecticut had a six character limit on license tags.
@thomaskowalcky4553 no, I can't say it does, and I'll be the first to admit that at one week shy of age 59, I am having more than just what appears to be an interest in sled dogs, which oddly enough I only started becoming interested in after my dog Loki crossed the Rainbow Bridge at age 15.5, she was the complete opposite of a sled dog I suppose, a pitbull mix who weighed about 65 to 67 pounds. A co worker who knows the people who run Muddy Paws and Raft, along with Over The Hill Senior Sled Dog Rescue, both up in New Hampshire asked me if when the time was right would I consider adopting a retired sled dog, and that was back in August of last year, but now I find myself immersed in the sport of sled dog racing from a spectator standpoint, plus I want to get involved as a donor to those two places I just mentioned. I just looked up that Siberian Club you mention, it seems to be somewhat active but as you know we don't get snow like we used to anymore. Man, I know all about bad knees !! I romanticize the idea of someday being able to go up to New Hampshire and get to go on a nice easy sled dog ride, but not with my bad left knee. Hey thanks for the reply, from one outdoorsman to another.... cheers!!
This is awsome to see some of the big sled dog cennels treat the dogs worse the jews in halacaust so good to see they have the little dig sled people like this lady she must be descusted with some of the cruel Iditarod owners and how they race they have 100s of dogs and take best care of only Champs .this lady is real winner of the sport. And tradition you can see how loved clean and healthy dogs are I just say the abused dog from sled racing and it made me sick after telling people they love to race
It was like you were reading my bio. I grew up watching lassie. In fact I still do. I recorded a bunch of episodes so my one sheltie who also loves Lassie can watch it. She comes running when she here's Timmy in the Intro call...L-A-S-S-I-E. Then she actually sits In front of the TV watching it. I got shelties because they remind me of Lassie but are smaller. I've been to many agility and obedience shows too. Such a wonderful breed.
Hello from Florida. I have 2 Sable Shelties that I got from HiMark Shelties here in Florida. I absolutely love my Shelties and they give me great joy. 🐕😁
I can appreciate how the Lady was very careful to lock the gate on the fence. I good was to get them back is to show the dog his leash and take him for a walk.
They see her puting the straw in the truck and are all happy ready to go gorgious team of syberians you dont see them much its all hybrid dogs in big races the huskies are such loving dogs and love to run
I love Shelties and have a girl named Ruby Jewel. She is like my own child and in some ways takes priority over my son. I wouldnt trade her for the world.
They are the best I have had 2 got one when I was 14 and lost my last one sparky December he was almost 13 got sparky at 2 months it killed me he had skin cancer he saved my life a few times it is strange I also have cancer rip sparky mom loves you and misses you very much
I just had to put my sheltie down today. After 16 years, Butter was the hardest to let go. This one hurts. other than my Wife, he was my best friend. I've worked from home since 2014 and He stuck to me like glue. This is going to take a while to let him go. I miss him already.
I hurt for you. You will miss him every time you turn around, but another dog (I recommend an adult Sheltie) is the best healing agent. Been there, done that. Ten months in between was too long.
We had one night without a sheltie, it was the worst night. The next day our vet called with a 6 month old needing to be rescued. We did. He could never replace our last one but this one is very healing to fill the void.
