She is a blue belt, he is a brown belt. He isn’t an aggressive roller, for the most part he lets the lower belts work their way into a more dominant position. If we get close to a submission he’ll give more resistance.
So this Stinko punk runs his mouth, but when getting called out on it, the person who calls him out is a nerd or is wrong. If Stinko is going to hound someone, or ride someone with his comments, go to him and say it to his face.
they don't keep their hands down because they're too good to guard it's tactical. the opponent can't read as quickly which hand is going to come for the strike, if they're down. counter-punchers will commonly use a low guard stance too, it's a good place to throw punches from if you're countering. and last but not least, you can evade more fluidly if your core is not keeping hands always up. it's more common to see stances where the hands or one hand is up, but low defense is not that unusual in boxing. i suggest checking out a couple bouts from James Toney and Floyd Mayweather, who used the philly shell (shoulder roll is main defense), and Nicolino Locche, who kept his hands down most of the time and simply bobbed and weaved to tire out his opponents. three defensive geniuses with low guard that every combat sports fan should check out.
"People who always make it never talk about themselves" ... what does Joe Rogan always talk about? Jiu Jitsu, Mikey Musumeci, Jocko Willink, Insert First Name Gracie, Jean-Jacques Machado, Eddie Bravo ... nuff said ...
"some people become too talented from things going to easy" ... oh, you mean like the Gracie family, the ones who orchestrated this whole shitshow in the first place
it's funny and kinda ironic how you used that Joe Rogan/Rob Zombie clip about bullying though, because of course Mikey Musumeci is Joe Rogan's temporary bjj marketing tool and so, since Sneako got under snowflake Mikey's skin, Joe Rogan called Sneako a "bully" ... I mean by that logic how many people can call Joe Rogan a bully ... because he's done and said FAR WORSE than Sneako ever did (only difference is Rogan means it ...) ... take anyone who's into traditional martial arts such as Karate, Aikido, Taekwondo or Ninjutsu or Kung Fu or whatever ... each and every single proponent of these arts could just as well label Joe Rogan a bully ... because all he does is make fun of people like Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, Stephen K Hayes etc. ... just to promote his cagefighting and jiu jitsu crap at their expense ... Joe Rogan is THE WORST TYPE OF HYPOCRITE BULLY
when I see even the first frame of Musumeci's cringy ass response videos towards Sneako, I really can't tell if I should cringe, cry or laugh ... there is simply no way to take this kid seriously after this, or Jiu Jitsu, because let's face it, Jiu Jitsu is literally all he is, he's a literal 1 trick poney whose entire life and personality is BJJ and BJJ only (that and eating pizza/pasta) ... no wonder people like Sneako make fun of him
if Mikey Musumeci would've been alive in the 80s, people would've eaten him alive mentally Cobra Kai style, not even joking the kid has ZERO mental strength or confidence
"to inspire another generation" ... to do what, Mikey, to act like an entitled triggered snowflake and threaten with violence every time someone doesn't brownnose you or Jiu Jitsu? Good luck ...
That whole Sneako vs Musumeci fiasco is precisely why I can't stand the Gracies and people like Joe Rogan and Jocko Willink and Musumeci: Joe Rogan and Jocko Willink literally get paid to ridicule and "expose" people for the sake of mma and bjj's shady agenda, yet whenever one of their temporary bjj propaganda tools (in this case, Musumeci) gets triggered, whoever triggered them (in this case, Sneako) is "a bully" ... Sneako is a PATRON SAINT compared to Joe Rogan and Jocko Willink, and what's Musumeci going to do in real life: break someone's joints or limbs every time they make some rude remark? He's gonna have his work cut out for him if that's the case. He reminds me of Michael Jordan in some way: one time a NBA rookie at the time jokingly claimed he was better than Jordan ... Jordan was such an entitled, arrogant and insecure manchild that he actually felt like it was necessary to literally get out of retirement and pay the kid a visit to humiliate him in front of the whole world to watch ... just to pat himself on the back afterwards because his stupid feelings and ego got hurt ... maybe I should make the same joke by saying I'm better at basketball than Jordan or I'm better at BJJ than Musumeci and see how they'll react ... no wonder people don't take them seriously, when you reach a certain high level status in whatever it is you do, people by default are going to compare themselves to you and push your buttons ... Musumeci clearly doesn't know that apparently (neither did Jordan but I digress) and if that's how your mind operates, then you shouldn't be a representative of anything, because all Musumeci has done is 1) give Sneako the attention he wanted, 2) prove him right by reacting the way he did and 3) embarrass the BJJ community and expose just how mentally fragile they are, I would NEVER send my kid to a bjj class after this even if I had kids, I'd try to IMPROVE their confidence or REDUCE their arrogance, not the other way around. Musumeci has forsaken himself by doing the exact opposite of what bjj and mma gurus like Joe Rogan and Jocko Willink keep preaching they do, he wasn't confident, he wasn't humble, he was just a manchild getting triggered by a literal nobody ... what good is all the joint and bone breaking skill in the universe if literally anyone could get under your skin? BJJ is becoming (for some BS reason) increasingly more popular ... and Musumeci knows this, so what he's doing is using bjj as a scapegoat excuse to justify his own crappy snowflake behavior towards Sneako. People of course brownnose him because he's Team BJJ and Sneako is not and that will only further delude him into thinking that just because you smile all the time and just because you're "a nice guy" and just because you're Team BJJ, that entitles you to expect everyone out there to simply like you no matter what ... that's NOT how reality works and one of these days, Musumeci is gonna find out the HARD WAY ... He also used that bullshit about Sneako being 7 inches taller as another so called reason/justification why he feels he's not the bully, even though time and again the bjj community keeps claiming that size and weight and strength don't matter in bjj ... but since Musumeci is being rightfully called out by Keanan Cornelius of all people, all of a sudden size is now relevant ... such a cherrypicking hypocrite he is. And Sneako went in there with Strickland and took the beating like a man, if he were a coward, he would not have signed that waver and would've simply run away, he did NOT. So all that 'TYPICAL BULLIES THEY TALK AND TALK AND NEVER FACE CONSEQUENCES" bullcrap is also coping because unlike Strickland, he lacks the ballls to confront Sneako and unlike Sneako, he lacks the balls to fight Strickland himself ... bjj and mma fanboys can delude themselves and spin reality in favor of Mikey all they want, but in the end Sneako is the one who shut down Mikey. After seeing that sparring session with Strickland, as well as Musumeci's cringy ass response videos, Sneako has earned my respect, Musumeci never will. He's just like the Gracies: all bark, no bite, always needing everything cherrypicked in HIS (or rather, BJJ's) favor ... or refusing to fight at all ... How does the BJJ community expect outsiders to take them seriously if not even one of their top Aces can deliver mentally?
To an average spectator the ADCC probably looks like two dudes slowly rolling around on a mat while grabbing each other. This for sure ain't the sport to compete in if you want to look tough in front of your family. Aljo was tripping.
(In my opinion about the sport) I don’t think it’s so much about wanting to look tough in front of my family. My main problem is that the sport itself is not entertaining to spectate (to those who don’t participate). I love the art, but I understand why the sport is not going to be profitable to an athlete. If we can’t grow the audience beyond practitioners, then many athletes will not be able to participate long term in competition and make a living from it.
What about fighting am I clueless about? Is there a specific part of my perspective that you can elaborate on? Or just some general points of disagreement?
I mean to be I don’t get it. I’m a Mma guy but this is the beauty about other martial arts. Mikey is right this a jiu jitsu match not a wrestling match of fan wants watch takedown go to a wrestling match. Jiu jitsu is all about submission. It’s same people who complains about a takedown in Mma and watch to just watch people boxing but then why not just watch boxing then?
I was almost gonna copy and paste my same response to a few other people in the comments, but I’ll reword it. Jiu jitsu is boring to watch for the normies. If we want the sport to grow so athletes (other than high profile ones) can make a living, then it should be entertaining. I say this as a practitioner myself, I love to train in MMA but I understand why it’s boring to someone who doesn’t understand the technical aspect of grappling. Do you know what I mean?
@@circadianmma The sport doesn't need do anything and doesn't have to compete for 'entertainment dollars' or entertain 'normies'. That's you saying that it does because that's your mindset that sees the art form as somehow less for what it actually is in comparison to other combat sports. It's a beautiful martial art and Mikey is undeniably an amazing artist to those with the eyes to see, regardless of any denigration you come up with for the two.
That's fine, we can disagree. You're right, we don't all think the same. But thanks for taking the time to hear me out, I appreciate it 🙏🏻 is there anyone else besides MIkey you think is a good representative for the sport?
I came across your timestamps and comment on Jamahal Hill's excellent panel response video, followed the link to your channel, and subscribed on the strength of this excellent video. ❤💪🙏
Also I only want the IZZY & DDP fight if its gonna be man to man not race to race. DDP is more African than IZZY period . I dont see IZZY staying in Nigeria or training or visiting for the matter or adding to the economy. DDP Born raised and stays in SA as well as Trains In SA as well as his entire team and gym is in SA
