On this channel you will see me repair common issues on automotive electronics and other consumer electronics. I do these repairs as a hobby and decided I would upload some videos of repairs I have not seen on here on RU-vid yet. Hopefully you find my channel useful. Feel free to email me about anything you see on my channel or if you are interested in having something repaired.
Yup. I’ve installed many and it was definitely a clogged drain line vacuuming it out or using nitro to blow the line clean. That was most likely the issue, but if it carries on, you can always buy a small pump for the drain water down in case somethings going uphill.
Thanks for info! It's the first mini split I installed. It was a little over a year ago now. Huge upgrade from the 20 year old window unit that was shoved through the wall😅
bootloader unlocking ? there should not be such a thing the uC and SOC should have the loader in the otp section or simply electrically disabled the communication to that memory section , allowing people to unlock hardware leads to THEFT AND MURDER this was the staple in the past and the reason they did it so , nobody in this flucking world will buy an apple phone knowing they can be a victim because it`s easy to unlock , from my line of work i can speak about mercedes ecu theft and many other electronic modules etc .... unreal levels of theft all because they used the wrong microcontrollers
Great guide! My oven wasn't heating on bake, so I replaced the temperature element (couldn't find a multimeter small enough to test that bugger). That wasn't the issue, so I checked the bake element and sure enough it was reading zero ohms. Pulled it out using your instructions and it's definitely very, very broken. Appreciate the straightforward video!
Please pardon my ignorance. But how do you generate that dump file for the desired mileage? In the video you use a dump file you’ve already generated. Thanks.
I have a question hopefully you can answer. My cluster works perfectly fine other than the battery light indicator stays on and the alternator is charging. I have everything working correctly. Is there a diode or something in the cluster that needs to be changed to get the battery light to quit staying on?
Hi. I like the video, but I can't start at the same place you did since I have no idea how you hooked it up. My display either shows Klingon or it's blank. I will take the cover off the dash cluster and press where you pressed, but can you help us newbies out and do a test with the dashpod in the car???
Went to search if people had similar experience with these, though in my case I just ordered these modules to test out an idea I had and harvest the ICs. They all work fine in my rather slow network (95kbaud) but considering I'm putting together an automotive product I wanted to verify the quiescent current of SN65HVD230 in standby mode (RX only). Datasheet claims up to 600uA but these chinese counterfeits sink as much as 8mA in standby mode lol. Thanks for the vid, I just wish I had searched for it sooner :)
The title for the video about the needles? I know you said Silverado but i don't see that in the title. Can you calibrate these like the New Edge Mustangs? I did that and it was SO easy. Thanks
I'm looking to decode class 2 data from the head unit on an older GM vehicle. I assume that data is also J1830 VPM? My real goal is to make a serial data sniffer for the older vehicles. I think maybe your design will do that? I starred your project on GitHub. My target will be an ESP32 with some functionality I've built into the design but trying to figure out if class 2 serial data contains control signals for aux audio source (play, ff, rewind, pause, stop, etc).
I have 2 different ones I like to use. this one is my favorite: amzn.to/3Z8lUqf this one is cheaper: amzn.to/3YRnhcI its not the exact one of the cheaper ones I have they don't still sell the old model.
Not saying your experience is wrong but mine is still working to this day. I actually just put a load of laundry in the dryer now. replacing the relay is best I agree with that.
I watched this video and the other one. This one looks like it uses an arduino uno, and the other video looks like it uses either a nano or micro. Is that the v2 version on your github? If so, do you have a wiring diagram for the nano/micro version?
I just replaced all mine with led and they stayed on for about a minute then they all went dead. The turn signal led still work and all other incandescent bulbs on the panel work as well. Wtf did I do, the solder joints were redone if they looked bad
Very nice project. It would be cool to use buttons, a display and a menu to be completely autonomous of a PC. Multi EEPROM support would be the cherry on the cake. Thanks for sharing.
damn! this is exactly what was wrong with mine! the first ones you touched, then the VFD's also. i retouched the ones on the right side with the Iron since i had it open.
I was changing to LEDs in my dashboard cluster, i was testing that the LES's were lighting and accidentally plugged the cable in upside down. I burnt up the cluster. Anyway, I got a rebuilt cluster and installed it on my 2004 suburban. I now have a inspect break booster on the display. I am unable to check the odometer reading. The switches on the steering wheel are not working. Would you know if I may have damaged anything else? Please let me know.
Raising this thread from the dead lol! This is interesting; thanks for sharing this! Does this firmware work on any STM32 based soldering stations? I have the KSGER T12 station, the KSGER Hot Air Rework station, a Handskit SMD tweezers rework station and a Handskit desoldering station. Would this firmware work on all of these? Or would I need to get specific firmware for the hot air, SMD tweezer, and desoldering station?
I changed the rpm motor thinking that was the problem with my rpm staying at 0. With one that’s known to work but it still didn’t work when I put it together. Anyone know why?
I just changed to a blue led instrument panel lights on a 06 Silverado. How do you change to blue lighting on the select gear and info panel. Right now I have blue led panel lights with the stock green on the gear select and info panel
Do you have to do anything to enable TPMS on the cluster? I recently got all the stuff to mess around with IPC hammer, as well as having a sacrificial IPC to mess with in case I mess it up. I will be adding TPMS to my MY03 truck via replacing the passenger door module. Should the IPC just pick up on that, or does anything has to be changed in the programming? Thank You.
I’m looking to do the same thing. Please post here if you find out any more info. I think you just have to update to a newer OS version but i also heard you might need to update the BCM too.
