It is better to think of the ‘Eureka’ feeling as understanding or a profound experiential connection rather than truth. The latter is a common mistake & conflation.
The topic is interesting, but the presenters apparent lack of preparation gives me doubt in the thoroughness of their understanding of the topic. After a few times where she was uncertain of some things, I couldn't continue watching despite an active interest in this topic. Maybe it's cos I got a shitty sleep last night but idk.
It was a bit disjointed, I’d agree. The meta-cognitive aspect could have been WAY better outlined and explained. Question 3 is a very important question, and her saying it’s philosophical was too superficial.
If I remember correctly this was part of a student congress, meaning all speakers where students themselves and not experts or professionals. So there's room for her to learn and improve as a speaker and researcher :))
I will just chime in, as they say, and add that, based on what I gather from reading lots of trip reports on Bluelight and Erowid, initially, there was a lot of interest in the analogs when they first began coming out around 2012 or so, not only because they emabled people to use LSD or osmething very similar to it legally some of the new analogs were clearly truly unique and different from the original LSD, such as ETH-LAD and AL-LAD, and some even prefer these to the original, ETH-LAD which is widely reported to have fantastic visuals, more so than LSD-25 but for many users one must pay a price for that of a terrible "body load," or negative bodily side-effects and ETH-LAD produces enough nausea and an aching body in some tha they habve no interest in ever using it again, some don't mind or some are luckier and have negligible side effects with ETH-LAD and some report even none at all. AL-LAD is another of the truly unique LSD analogs and which has been nicknamed acid for beginners because at low to medium doses 150-300 ugs or so there is no "headspace," ones thinking and percpetion are as though one didn't take anything, yet one gets even more visuals than ETH-LAD. Some do not like AL-LAD saying it completely lacks in depth, others say thats its advantage, you don't have to confront the depths of your unconcious and you are free to experience a more blissful and visually altered experience that doesn't interfere with social interaction as LSD and ETH-LAD and other LSD analogs often do. There are some other analogs that are popular that emerged in the mid-2010's such as LSZ, 1cP-LSD, 1V-LSD and another which was revived from legend status Albert Hoffman's own 1A-LSD or also known as ALD-52 which has been produced by a major psychdelic laboratory a few times but who have said they will not make it anymore because the process yeilds too little for them to make their money back. Of these analogs, many debate whether they are actually different. People who base their judgements on scientific data and research tending to claim that any difference between LSD analogs is strictly in the minds of the users, that they are what are called pro-drugs of LSD that have no activity on their own until they are metabolized by the body into LSD 25. People who base their opinions more on experiences more often say they can clearly tell the difference bewteen between all of these and each other and from LSD-25. LSZ is said to be rather mild and indeed it requires a higher dose than all of the others except perhaps AL-LAD, many say it is very serious and dull and more suited to problem solving or dry philosophizing and that it also carries a high side effects level. With all of these analogs and LSD they affect each person quite differently and even affect the same person sometimes very differently from trip to trip. Some old trippers report, it is what they like about LSD 25 over the years is that it is often like taking a new substance, but there are patterns that in online discussions most people tend to agree on generally describe each analog, LSZ being mild and perhaps a bit boring, AL-LAD quite cartoony and recreational at low to mid doses (higher doses, above 300 ug generally we see AL-LAD begin to alter thoughts and quickly become deep as far as influencing thought and ideation), ETH-LAD is deep and visual and also more potent than LSD25, a 75 ug dose being roughly equal to 125 ug of LSD, ALD-52 is said to have great emotional warmth and lesss but different visuals and is many people's preferred type even to LSD 25. 1cP-LSD comes a bit later and this is when I notice people's interest begning to drop. Many have good things to say about 1cP, many that it is indistinguishable from LSD 25, or very similar but better visuals, but there is much less discussion about it and fewer trip reports. 1V also came out somewhat later, 2018 or so, and gets more enthusiastic response than 1cP that it has gorgeous visuals and is more relaxing less stimulant type effect that LSD25 is famous for. The 1P-LSD arrives around 2015 or so and probably take the cake as most popular analog or very close to ALD-52 which it is quite similar to molecularly. It has depth and excellent visuals and little negative physical side-effects for most and is also quite powerful perhaps slightly stronger than LSD 25 for some, there was a lot of inspiration to discuss and write trip reports on it and seems the closest to an authentic LSD25 epxerience for many who are experienced with both types. Then there is 1D and 1B which receive a lot of rejection from many who have tried it. There is speculation that because 1D has a very complex molecule attached to the LSD molecule that this kills the effect, I am not a psychochemist but that sounds a bit random to me but many say 1D is very poor and nearly doesnt work that one needs a huge dose to even get moderate effects. 1B appeared and disappeared without much interest, perhaps it wasn't well liked either. I wish I did not live in Asia sometimes where extreme hysteria even about cannabis is the attitude and people are put to death for LSD possession or given 20 years in terrible prisons just for a gram or two of marijuana, there is no interest in psychdelic drugs, so LSD analogs aren't even addressed by the laws, but you can very well guess if should be caught with them the punishment would be the same. Hopefully I will get a chance to come visit some more tolerant countries in Europe and try the legal LSD analogs, they really are so fascinating and interesting to read about.

Are there any reports on ego dissolution from Buddhists and are there any similarities to psychedelic experiences?

Many people eat less meat, go vegetarian/vegan or eat more fruit and vegetable following the experience. -giving up on the material world, many people change their field of work to one that help others rather than focusing on making money for oneself. -realizing that we are not here to accumulate money or physical possessions, we are here to help one another, love one another and grow. -during the experience the ego is removed, revealing your true self. -realizing everything is energy vibrating at different frequencies. -feeling of your pineal gland (3rd eye) being sore for a day or two after, like a muscle worked out for the first time. -meeting other beings far more intelligent than any human and being able to telepathically communicate with them. The truth is, All the ascended masters in every religion were Shamans, who had many direct Spiritual experiences with Sacred Entheogen Plants. Since the first religion the "Rig Veda" of India. The divine sacred Plant Entheogens are our true teachers, always have been and always will be. What I absolutely love about Ayahuasca is she has such a perfect Universal design to only pull in people who have an extremely deep love for Truth. The Spiritual Warriors. She leaves out the insincere who have too short of a barrier of courage. She has such a perfect barometer and threshold for every human being on the planet. In other words, if a religious person who has been totally brainwashed by all the lies of churches, sees the ceremonies are done at night, and sees some snakes in some Ayahuasca Art, and sees it will be difficult at the beginning to face their Ego, they will immediately run away by their silly superstitions and illusions. Totally owned by all their fears. LOL. And totally ignoring the enlightenment and infinite revelations aspect later. Becoming absolute Truth to them is not worth it. And then on the other hand, someone who is into the occult garbage and into dark energies, will not want to take Ayahuasca either, because they will learn that Ayahuasca eventually leads to Enlightenment.
