3 gigs I don't miss. Political, Beauty Pageants, Horse Arenas. Awesome thing about freelance is when the gear gets back to the shop you don't clean it! The dirt goes EVERYWHERE.
Hey bro! Could I ask you a huge huge favour. Would you be willing to spare 5-10 min's with me to chat over phone if I called you? I'm just pretty new to live sound, and just have a few question's regarding incorporating a couple things into the rig. I could send you a few bucks also if you want, but I just really need some help with something, and it's just a few really general questions. It would mean a lot to me.
Can you provide the name/model number of monitor mount used? I was thinking of purchasing the SKB 1SKB-iSF2U with a manual mini pc but I would have to have a separate monitor and needed a way to securely mount it. Thank you
Sorry for the delay. I have been traveling. This is a mixture of different Akron mount products. If you search on Amazon, you will find plenty of different options.
More than I need, but really cool seeing what others use and how they set things up. The mounts for the screen and mic and the screen and keyboard were worth watching just for those! Certainly gave me some new ideas if I ever get to needing something like this. Great build and info!
Hi my name is Jimmy I'm a Christian DJ I wanted to do Christian songs at my church but wanted to be a Christian song man at my church I'm trying so hard can you teach me how to do sound
Thanks man. I run a small to medium size production in Honolulu Hawaii. Its great to see production logs like this. I always learn new stuff. great job with the Rodeo 🤙🏾
Hello! Here is my video from last year. There is an update coming this year as I have made some changes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-na-DGo_kDG0.html
Just watched your previous version and this upgrade is MASSIVE! Definitely inspired a new rack build for me! The case is amazing! I hope I can get one in the UK
Awesome video! I remember days like this. We had a Thursday night loaded in gig Friday Saturday @ a country fair. Loaded out Sunday AM. As we were loading out the cowboys were loading in the bulls. Quite the pucker factor when you got bulls staring @ you while you push cases on to the truck. Other fun thing you are flying Clair cabs. We were wing stacking the big ole beast Clair Cabs back then.
Awesome video, quick question. How are you using the warm audio bus compressor and what benefits does it provide for FOH mixing? Keep up the good work!
I use this bus comp on my LR bus. It really helps to tighten and glue the mix together. It helps out a lot with mix control when I mix bands I have never heard before. Additionally, the warm Audio bus comp has Cinemag transformers in it to help add warmth back to the mix. Even when the compressor is not engaged, I’ll leave the transformers in. It’s subtle, but I miss it when I don’t have it. Trying to figure out a way to make a video on it.
Killer concept man. I watched your first iteration of this and I was inspired. This is just really cool. The mounts for the monitor and the mic! SICK! I'm confused slightly. What are the connections from the mini to the monitor? Are you running an HDMI for the display and a USB A to USB C for the power?
Thanks for watching! So the monitor technically only needs USB C for power and video but I don’t have a full feature USB C port on my Mac mini so I’m using a USB A to C for power, and a HDMI to mini HDMI for video. Those little blocks at the end are just 180° turnarounds so that way the cables aren’t sticking out the side. Keeps it cleaner and less chance of them breaking.
Hi, I have a question and I think you are the right guy to answer it What should I do if I have a condenser mic connected to a Y splitter? From which console should I send the +48v from? Monitors mixer or FOH mixer?
Hello, Depends on the split. Some have isolation transformers that will not pass the +48v down the isolation side. If this is the case, do phantom down the split side not on the Iso. In the scenario it’s a split without an iso output, either console could do phantom theoretically. I recommend picking one position. Traditionally, monitors takes care of phantom power. And would in the isolation scenario, would get the non isolated split.
Crazy that I've got the same three cases and a black backpack lmao. Only difference is the smallest Peli I'm using as a mic kit and the larger one a cable kit. Solid video again dude, really enjoying these.
Entertaining watch, thanks. A lot of redundancy though. Two leathermans and a utility knife, 3 flash lights.. in my experience when I got too much stuff in the bag I get disoriented
I recently acquired the 2ch version of smaart for Ipad that supports transfer function and everything. It was around $60. The single channel version was $30. It works a treat and is a nice complete RTA with export features and support for mic calibration data and external interfaces. Nice interface carryover if your already a smaart user.
