This trip reminds me about when I came down to Newquay camping with another 4 guys the 2nd day we were there we planned a drive down to Truro to spend a few hours there but on our way back from the site pub about midnight I turned my ankle on the side of the path and had to be helped back to my tent, next day we did go to Truro as planned but I didn't see anywhere but Truro casualty 🤣
@@whiskymacable hi Vic yeah Truro is a nice city "big town" with some decent shops and sometimes near the pannier market they have a farmers market with load's of yummy things to eat from around the area. 😊
I am jealous of you British because I can't find decent fish and chips in the states. My mom was a Brummie and at least when I grew up in the states, we had H. Salt and Arthur Treacher's. We can't get those now.
@@joe-nf7cf oh so sorry to hear that I've heard that there are British style restaurants and even pubs springing up in places I'm really lucky I guess as I have 3 fish and chip shops within half a mile of my home thanks for watching Joe.🙂
@@alanhilton7336caradventure My mom and dad met during WW2, and my mom was a war bride. I got to come to England back in 1977, and we stayed just down the street from a little fish and chips shop that would wrap the meal up in newspaper. For years I have chased that perfect fish and chips shop. All countries have a blessing of some short, and one of England's is their fish and chips. At least to me.

@@alanhilton7336caradventure yes good shop but that was not built then.my uncle spent every morning there for breakfast and was like fam there till he passed .not many of us family oldens left lol but i is doing ok be down home soon
@@alanhilton7336caradventure we done it for 2yrs between us 3 brorthers but we all got drained and was told best mum went into care .we didn't want it but we were not trained to cope .
Hi Alan, thanks for the comment about my vid, but I did explain that I had forgotten to bring the camera mounting bracket -hence having to drive with one hand and hold the camera with the other, only that it has a good gimbal attached it deffo would have been a lot more shaky, hopefully I'll remember it for the next time-enjoyed your Nos 1&2 vids-very relaxing especially when I'm eating my tea lol

Hi Alan, I am 79 yrs old, and was in the Fleet Air Arm at RNAS Culdrose ,Helston In the 1960's. I would be interested to know if the "Flamingos" dance halli in Redruth is still there(we knew it as Flaming Jo's. I expect it was knocked down years ago and then a new build. I really enjoy your programme, nice to see Cornwall,l but everywhere has changed except where I used to live St Ives still seems to be the same. Keep up the good work, best regards Colin.
@@colinbacon6478 hi Colin thank you for watching there is a lengthy article on Google if you look up"flamingos dance hall"but in short it lasted into the early 80s when was turned into skating ring and then a supermarket and then eventually demolished which is so sad to hear for a building with such a rich history I hope you'll try the link and have a good read thanks again Colin. 🙂

Hi Alan, it is nice to see my old service area. I was a refrigeration engineer before I retired. I live in Torquay and Cornwall was my main area. I miss the "butty van" that was after the old little chef in the big layby before Liskeard . I enjoy the vids. Cheers Mike

Great drive through Hayle, there, Alan. I grew up there and went to Hayle school. Great memories watching that. Completely new shops since i was there25 years ago.

You mentioned you like driving under the cover of trees but unfortunately your camera doesn't as it plays heck with the pixels, I've only done one with my camera and that was getting flashes through the trees, so now I am waiting for a sun cowl before going near trees again....but failing that there are filters available on line...PS enjoyed part two as much as part one.-thanks for taking us!

Omg that's quite warm lol, there's Porthleven it has a beautiful beach nearby there's coverak it's a shingle beach but the village is lovely also there's pra sands again a lovely beach that's fairly quiet hope that helps.🙂
Used to live lin St Ives in 1965, nice to drive around with you. Please try and tell us where you are going ie, now this is Carbis bay. that is St Ives bus station on the right. now we are going down the hill into St Ives. that's the parish church, only a suggestion to make your trips enjoyable so we know where we are going.
