Karate-Do is a exercise based activity with the lethal essence of actual Karate omitted in it's corriculum. Meaning: Karate-Do is NOT an actual martial art. I welcome proof that I am incorrect in my stating this. 🎉 Osu
THIS IS TYPICAL Karate-Do unrealistic (non-contact/incorrectly timed & distanced) fighting technique Notice.. these type of applications are NEVER used in contact-combat sports or martial arts
Oss. 🙏🙏
Empi Shōtōkan kata, JKA version to be precise. In Wado Ryu, I think it's called Wanshu and it looks somewhat different. Empi is one of the many katas that Gishin Funakoshi changed their names for Japanese. Others are Pinan -> Heian, Naihanchi -> Tekki, Chinto -> Gankaku and so on.
with fully respect...making a girl aged 5 a black belt holder is strange...I myself did Karate-Do and it took more than 10 years becoming a black belt holder...osu.
That's because black belt in Japan holds little significance compared to the West. To Japan, it just means she understands her basics. Kyu and Dan grades are not defined by age like how we do in the West. You either earn it or not. Age has little to do as to whether they hand out kyu or dan grades.
Black belt means that you know all the basics very well and you are training karate seriously. 1. dan is just a beginning. Also this kid was super good and had way better technique as 6-7 years old black belt than so many 40-years old black belts I have seen. It's about your training and ability, not your status or "years of training". Also if you train 16 hours per week for 1 year, that's pretty much the same as 2 hours per week for 8 years. In JKA there are age limits from 3. Dan on (minimum 18 years). Eg. for 7th dan you must be at least 50 year old and you must have had your 6th dan for at least 7 years (and 5th dan minimum 5 years for 6th dan, 4th dan minimum 4 years for 5th dan and so on) and you have to train like an animal to pass the exams.
Lady karate black is so focused, determined, powerful, disciplined, her yokogeri jodan would easily smash a mans wind pipe should he be foolish enough to dare attack a seemingly defensive young lady trained with lethal devastating self defence techniques by way of years studying karate to her amazing black belt standards, all women should take up karate, don’t you agree the benefits of being a karate black belt are unbelievable oss
jyodan kekomi is very difficult to do in self defense, actually; included that the casual clothes do not let it that. You should aim for gedan area. I bet that you do not train with makiwara; do not do kote kitae; no many things outside sports Karate.
cannot deny the fact that he was instrumental in spreading sports karate all over the world. always interesting to see how the old masters interpreted the kata. got all excited to hear Master Nakayama's commentary on kata - but its all primary school stuff - forever assuming that another martial artist will attack you in the street with a perfectly executed punch or front kick. for practical application of kata rather check out Iain Abernethy's practical/logical application of kata. i suppose the first one brave enough to move away from this kind of unrealistic practice was the Master Oyama with his full contact Kyokushin Karate. also not true to say that the JKA has the only instructor training program - probably based on this example the Master Oyama would run his own dormitory where those lucky enough to be accepted were required to train every day for 3 years.
