Great video! Question though, what do you mean when you say, "that coil will get a flat spot". My air conditioner has worked great and never had an issue, came into work this morning and it worked great, then just an hour ago at break time, i ran to 7-11, and the AC would not blow.. at.. all... I tried both AC and Heat, and nothing.

i have the same car but my blower works, the only problem is it’s stuck on vents. If I try to switch to front mode for my windshield it wont work, the only one that works is the vents😖 Any suggestions?

I would look at the actuator that controls the airflow door. It’s most likely bad and needs to be changed. Good luck!

The solution is simple other than what I’m about to say will bring out the pitch forks, and hot tar and feather for me 🤣 We produce mandatory equipment that brings it up to the 700 standard of purity of new virgin, refrigerant or better. Yes, it’s going to cost more no big deal. The equipment will be bigger, boat gear and slower to process the refrigerant. Something you do overnight in bulk. It might have a cryonic unit in it that is basically just a simple refrigerator that goes down to some number for reference -27° below zero And if the shop tonight afford it, then that means they’re not really an air conditioning business in the first place or they are definitely not charging enough to pay for their equipment, their training or their technicians so they need not be in the business in the first place, hope that didn’t get anybody’s panties. All wadded up their crack . Refrigerant identifiers, 100% mandatory in all shops no exceptions I own two businesses one is automotive and one is commercial HVAC I have been operating by 608 rules on turning in refrigerant for 30 years now no big deal Ideal and refrigerant in tonnage, not by the pounds per year, and I am a tiny little fleece size business So a larger hi production shop should not complain about the situation at all. They have no excuse. . I am constantly getting contaminated, refrigerant from my surroundings, neighboring shops, all them up and down the San Francisco peninsula . Oh, it’s ridiculous. That shops, or even allowed to stay in business. If they do not own a Refrigerant Zion Analyzer, they should be removed from our industry. The shops without the Refrigerant Analyzer’s, I like the STD spreading infectious Protho And we were talking about protecting customers cars now on these electric vehicles that have air conditioning systems. If you do the parts count on components that you cannot flush through all these one-way valves accumulator assemblies electronic expansion valves we’re getting up into a price tag at 5000, $8000 plus especially on Audi‘s and Mercedes to do a metal flake contaminated black oil burn out System replacement And as usual, it’s a Automotive Shop, who last lay their fingers on the vehicle that are often responsible for the burn out So let’s educate the shops who are uneducated, or eliminate the shops that refuse to change, because they are responsible for the customers losses Are in the past we used to only think about a $200 $500 compressor now we’re getting into the $2000 plus all the related service and procedures with labor When I install a residential unit the price tag for the customer somewhere between 12,000 and $30,000 When I sell and install a larger commercial or industrial heat, recovery, VRF system between 20 tons to 60 tons of cooling. The price range will be anywhere from $80,000-$270,000. Automotive or just a little toys And you cannot afford to put contaminated Refrigerant, or leave behind moisture inside the systems, like we get away with automotive because of the losses and expenses You cannot afford to have untrained, technically unskilled low paid workers, making mistakes on the systems because of a compressor failure and clean up and procedure replacement can exceed the cost of a car . So the problems we have in Automotive that we are whining and crying and people are throwing tantrum tantrum’s about our minuscule in importance or complexity .

Hi Kermit… I have a minibus with the TransAir units in the rear of my bus. 1 factory front unit and 2 TransAir units in rear of the bus. At regular idle are stopped… the air comes out Luke warm or sometimes cool. When the bus is in motion or accelerating the air comes out cold in all units. Do you have in idea how to fix this problem?

I would love to see both CO2 & R290. & R600 used in cars all at the same time by different manufacturers. Definitely good for our business. CO2 in heat pumps on electric cars to make it work efficiently & good at the same time would be god awful overly complicated. But definitely job security guaranteed. Definitely remove auto shops who are not qualified to do is AC now out of this market?. A CHARGE IS COMING TO HVAC SPECIALIST SHOPS. HEAT PUMPS will do to specialist shop the same as computer controls engine and emission added to diesel heavy truck specialty shops. Close them down. The same that happened to transmission specialty shops when they added computer controls, you notice they all went bankrupt out of business. The same thing happened to automotive air-conditioning when they added variable control, compressors and sensors the come backs and burned up compressors cause many radiator air conditioning specialty shops to go out of business . This is what happens when the owner of the shop is technically incompetent and unable to train his own technicians of the changing times in new advanced controls . (“Lead follow or get out of the way”) Lee Iacocca I see many of my local automotive shops have been giving up doing air conditioning because of extremely high cost come backs and car repairs that have been taken to the dealership and charge back to the automotive shop that improperly recharge the vehicle . After owner takes two or three several thousand dollar payouts to a dealership for a customers damage to your car they permanently hang up their gauges.. In the last 3 years I have never seen so many body shops go out of business in my area. More then the last 30 years. New cars Time lost on repairs and come backs do to electronics . Coolant systems, even simple battery charging in replacement causing come backs and towing cars and high price dealer 💰 out to repair because the did something wrong. If the owner of a shop, I cannot train his own technicians, then the owner must be removed from this industry. Ignorance, Laziness, being Cheap , NOT TOLERATED ANY MORE

I remember back in 2012 YF fridge. It was already known to be and talked about being in in-term Refrigerant until they can find a better one.. in 2012 I got a call from Cadillac to charge one of their brand new r1234YF XTX model that just got a find an accident on a test, drive brand new off the truck. Cadalack had the machine not set up. They didn’t have the refrigerant and another guys were trained to charge the new Refrigerant. . I already had to Refrigerant I already had to fittings . . I charge them big-time marked up my price since I knew I was only going to do this one job for them.. I gave to the dealer what the dealer gives to customers . When I left the dealership, they were walking bowlegged .

Hope your address heat pump vehicles on a compressor burn out. The cost to repair a system that has burnt oil and tiny, fine metal flake spread throughout all the hoses, the lines, the evaporator, the two expansion valves or electric expansion valves , plate heat exchanger, and solenoids parts that need to be replaced instead of flushed. Compressor burn out on a Prius prime, when the accumulator assembly is completely littered with fine metal flakes and black burnt oil.

👍 simple, a competent owner employees respect who’s usually actually confidence in the work that they’re asking the employees to commit to. A technically competent owner when he does hire employees who are of less experience, because they are of the lower pay scale, and that’s what he’s shooting, for he can get out there himself, and actually guide them and teach them and nurture their education to a higher level. A place of an employment that promotes continuous education and time off to go to webinars and seminars go out to expos and sign up to possibly night classes in a junior local college . Working for an employer who doesn’t shoot for charging the lowest prices as his method of attracting customers, so there’s no more profits leftover to pay technicians a living wage or benefits, so there’s no excuses . When a technician sees, they cannot grow and prosper, and become more educated and there’s no possibility of making a living at a higher level. There’s no reason to stay there anymore. . Train your employees as if you were training them to actually take over and run your business without you and steal your business away. It sounds ludicrous to Sam, but that’s the difference between knowing and not knowing there’s a method to the madness . Employees leave for a reason In a place that always has the for hire sign out all the time that’s the first sign of a place you do not want to go and work if you are employee .

👍. Heat pumps are going to be a great thing for our industry for the guys who keep up with the information. Propane would be the best way to go for a Refrigerant just have plate heat exchangers with glycol loops directly off the compressor so only 3 to 5 ounces of propane is needed that never leaves the engine compartment and everything else is chilled do I call into the passenger compartments and the hot gas goes to a plate heat exchanger that goes to a heat exchanger on the front of the vehicle to dissipate the heat from heat of compression. Businesses and technicians who do not keep up with technology and join and attend Mac seminars expo will they be the ones going out of business Every time a new technology gets introduced in Hvac the shops that don’t keep up go bankrupt and out of business. It just leaves a bigger piece of the pie for the ones that remain

That looks like when somebody screwed up and didn’t put lubricant in the system in the first place causing that black oxide aluminum find dust from metal to metal contact. The black oxide was not spread throughout the system or the rest of the compressor was perfectly free of the black oxide meaning there was no lubricant or refrigerant flushing it while I was rotating and it got hot and seized. Then somebody got the a-ha lightbulb moment went off oh shit I forgot to put in lubricant they won’t warrantee this so let’s throw in lubricant after it seized up and turn it back in for warranty or not let the boss know and pretend the lubricant was in there all the time. But there was no mixing from that clean lubricant in the compressor and the hot powdery aluminum and metal from the metal to metal contact did not spread it throughout the compressor meaning it was not running when the lubricant was added later. And I also wonder did they use an air tool just the bolt down the compressor to the block unevenly with high torque and distort the case of the compressor in the first place ? And if the bearing even if it was that tight in the first place who put on a compressor without rotating it with their hands and not noticing the tight spot ?

these compressors are out of toyota coaster mini buses, the refrigerant circuit runs all the way from front to back of the bus (14m total) so a lot of oil is required, quite common for this to be overlooked and then the compressor subsequently seizing
