We made the mistake of fixing up our local park and adding pickleball courts. The worst sport ever, noise and entitled old people who don't mind taking park space from children. A tennis ball hitting a tennis racquet makes 40 dbs of sound, pickleball is 70 dbs of sound, not to mention all the screaming and hollering. JUST SAY NO TO PICKLEBALL.
21 additional cars in our residential neighborhood. No place for kids to play, during covid the entitled pickleballers refused to follow the rules, and the city had to shut down the park. Worst sport, worst people
PB has nothing to do with badminton. Or ping pong. And there is no "peaceful co-existance" with tennis. And NO other sport in America is played for 10-14 hours per day, seven days a week. Even God recommends a Sabbath! As for hotels steering guests to these public courts, how much are you reimbursing the neighbors who have lost the ability to control the noise in their own homes and bodies? The families are being sacrificed for the players to have fun, for the restaurants to get customers, or the hotels getting guests. This is not right.
This noise is a health hazard for those exposed to the impulsive POP for hours on end. Also, tennis players hate to be forced to play next to PB. Golf and tennis are the quietest sports, and PB is like a war zone to them.
This conversation about the intentionality of preservation in Newport is essential. Especially as Newport faces some concerning revisions to our zoning codes that will allow homeowners and developers in historic districts to build and alter properties using more “modern” elements. Sensitive issues that require all who value Newport’s unique architectural heritage and cultural/historical character….to take notice and become part of the conversation!
You can find the real video just search. this was posted by a sick narssissitic crap trash that lives int he internet. he purposely edited it to show what people see, its exactly like idiots that play movies backwards and then post them.
I was impressed with the two candidates that sat together and their objectives in running, as well as solving the current problems that exist in Middletown. The two candidates are Huet and Weber. Thanks everyone for participating in the forum.
Awesome to see this kind of community collab bring a great set of questions to candidates. I hope many more residents take the time to learn about all 12 candidates.
