@@JayKullar Rustoleum Hard Hat 750 deg paint. I think you'll find cerakote will fail as exhaust tips can reach 600 deg. Only prep is a light sanding. I've done 20K and touched them up once 👍🏻
Re the corrosion, is it happening at a fold/seam of the aluminium? Depending on how the bodywork drains and holds water, the seams can be in contact with water during the period of storage. Add British weather and salt and the chance of corrosion is intensified. Once you have a paint correction, you could try protecting the area with an oil. Do this on the other side.
So I currently own a 911 and am looking to buy a pre-owned exotic replacement. I've driven AMG GTS, R35, Audi R8. I really want to own a Mclaren 570s though am worried about engine reliability and cost of maintenance. What's the nicest used sports car for $150k apart from a 570? Thanks for your input!
There generally aren't any problems with the drive train and engine. But all the cars you mention above are mass production. You won't get the same build quality and reliability with a small volume car.
It may take some adjustment to be happy to deal with reliability issues when moving away from Porsche. But if you can do it, you can open yourself up to some very fun cars. Consider also the Ferrari 458, 488, F12, although, these might be over budget in your market? True exotics could be Noble and TVR. McLaren and Lotus would give you the driving pleasure you would be used to in a 911, Lotus giving you change for maintenance
@@glenmiester Porsche is a mass production car... You can either have a beautiful car that has class leading performance but with issues you have to be aware of or a (in my opinion) dull car with the reliability that comes from mass production of mainstream companies...
@@supacarbaldy3826 I get what you're saying. And your 570 is a beautiful car. But not sure I agree with the mass production vs reliability comment. Besides, the Porsche GT3 I would argue isn't a mass produced car and has great reliability. And definitely not dull as you have put it. It is likely why a similar aged GT3 costs a good £50k over a Mcl 570
@@glenmiester So Ferrari, McLaren etc all the same. If Porsche design a new door they go to the VAG testing lab who bolt it into a robot jig that opens and closes it 10,000 times to make sure it works. McLaren design it, try and think of any possible issues, then build it. That's the difference 👍🏻
Is that pacific blue? It looks nice😊 edit: i mean other than silver i think this is the most beautiful color for 570gt. I plan to buy this in another 3 years when i have the money and the car price is depreciated 😂
@@notabenex1 It's better for me in the respect that you don't have to run a Nav app for it to work and the fact that it'll just run in the background. Also you don't have to look at a screen 👍🏻
Probably for basic maintenance. Service and oil change plus tyres... I have my oil changed every 6 months but that's just me. Won't cover your insurance though.
@@supacarbaldy3826 sorry yes I wasn’t very clear. I am thinking the costs below would be good. That is using a recognised indy for maintanance. I was wondering if you have had any issues that would eat up 2.5k a year for self warranty/slush fund for issues? Yearly running costs. - 1.5k for annual service - insurance - Tax - MOT - 2500 for self warranty
I have been researching this recently and if you get warranty it’s 5k-6k per year. - 3300 McLaren warranty or 2850 thorney warranty. - 1k to 2k per year for servicing. Slightly less if independent. - Tax is 190 on cars registered after April 1st 2017 or 680 for earlier models. - Then what ever your insurance is.
Unfortunately not, I tried to keep it but just couldn't afford to keep both. I sold it to a good friend who lives 5 minutes away though so still get to see it regularly ❤️
Thinking of upgrading my exhaust on my 570gt as well. Can't afford a full system do you think that doing the cats 1st like you did or just replace the back section. Want more noise?Don't want it booming while driving on motorways
@@supacarbaldy3826Hello, can you make me one? And if so, how much would it be for your Version 2.0 and I would just need a magnet/ MagSafe to hooked my phone, not your style holder? Thank you in advance.
Very interesting info. Can You tell me please what is the power of battery AH? Because i cant buy Anti Gravity battery in my region. Only classic Agm batteries. THANKS FOR VIDEO!
I love it, just around the corner from simply sports cars, currently own a cla45 but the headlight went, that cost 10k then rear diff 14k I want an exige, my dream car 🚗
racetechtitanium.com/product-category/fasteners/titanium-fasteners/titanium-bolts/standard-bolts/titanium-12pt-bolts/ This is the company I used but they don't appear to do 1/4 inch anymore. Annoyingly the bolts on AP discs are in imperial sizes.
@@supacarbaldy3826 hi - thinking of doing the same swap on a friends that ha just died. who did the ECU for you? was it a re program or just a rest once new battery was fitted? was it the Body control module that was done?
Hi, model depends which car you have. If its a 570/600 you'll need an H7, later variants will be an H6. Yes, the Mclaren charger is just a rebranded CTEK lithium charger.
I guess im answering my own question since you've had the air filter on for some time now but have you had any problems with the MAF sensor being excessively dirty due to the (oiled) K&N filter element?
