Good call, I have tried blobbing line before and I tend to melt everything except the piece I am supposed to be melting😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣, I might give it a try though, because you can start too long and adjust it down with a blob. A knot is less forgiving.
So like you, I pull it right up and gently blob it away from everything, then I can pull it back to the length I need. Great video though, hardly any of us left use spade hooks 😂
Been using this for a while to get loops same every time - easier to handle than what's on market ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-REG3gmlXk3E.htmlsi=Z3hdbhC-L7ZTfhBA
Thanks for sharing, Bob nudd himself uses spade end hooks for hair rigs, but he didn't show me how to tie it ! So, for years now, I've always wondered how to tie hair on a spade end hook. FYI, you can tie a knotless knot without having the ugly knot on the hair, which is how I do them. Simply form the loop with the band in it, then whip over the line up the shank. If I tie them for feeder fishing, I leave the tag end in place, which enables you to adjust the hair length to suit the bait being used. Anyway, I hope I made sense !!!!!
Hi mate, I found that after using it for a while my guessing improved and I am now able to guess quite accurately the weight of each fish. So the device has helped recalibrate me so I don't bother with it😊👍.
@@AverageAnglerwhat emitter you got in that, as wondering of it has the Nichia 4500,k with also the read light as an added bonus, if so I should have got this model because red is handy for bugs
Another great presentation John👏. I personally made my own rig board using white Mdf 1mtr long, which I marked out with permanent marker pen with 2 spool holders with retaining thumb screws and washers for tension, all line up spot on, utilising pop rivets for my pins, I keep all my stotz in original dispenser. When not in use Rivets left in Mdf along with thumb tension screws. All shot, line, loop tier, line and scissors, sprung jewellery pliers keep in plastic linch box with lockable lid. Cost max in total £6.00-£7.00 I usually make 2 rigs of each type so no need to take rig tier to bank all done in shed. To part with approx £60 for Preston plastic box which looks quite brittle is a non event for me 👍
The box will close with the two big rig pins in place, there are recess holes for them on the opposite lids. Its only the small hooklength twisted pins that need to be removed, if you use them
Looks like to much fecking about love the one I made cost me nothing fancy buying something and u don't no what anything is must have more money than sense
mass produced plastic box small box 60 pounds..i would say max price 25 pounds ,toys for boys,no red go faster stripe ether ,no it money not well spent sorry plastic breaks,,
£60 in my local tackle shop,it's a plastic box, nearly fell over when I saw what it costs, sorry Preston, your having a laugh at the expense of the angler,🤨
I think the price might put a few off based in the comments I have seen, but my local tackle shop had a decent list of pre orders. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, it's appreciated👍😊
It will definitely make a gap in your wallet. I've seen a few saying latches are difficult to open, but you didn't seem to have any problems. Hope you find it useful. Do you think you've got enough silicone for those floats 😅
Watched a number of your videos mate they're really good. I like the fact that your reviews are actually a review and you go into a bit of detail. The fishing world needs more content like this. Happy rig tying
No not magnetic, but after watching my video back I can see why you thought they were, I do call it magnetic a few times, but that's in reference to the magnetic lid, sorry if this was misleading🤦🤦
Rig boards have been around for donkeys years, some people make their own. Jordans one looks nice but you can't pack it away quickly. It's the storage I really like, the fact it's rig board as well is a bonus for me.
Excellent unboxing - not easy to do! This is well thought out and designed, I’d be interested if they decide to sell the shot box separately. I have the Rigmate (review on my channel) which has been excellent. I got it when I went back to Balebini shot for carp rigs (still use stotz for silvers). There isn’t enough in this to make me change, but at £60 good value I think. As you don’t shot your rigs at home I do think you’re missing the main advantage of owning a rig board which in my view is shotting rigs accurately and consistently. I personally wouldn’t want to be putting Balebini on my rigs on the bank, far too fiddly for my hands but we’re all different.
Thanks for the comments Paul....love the channel by the way👍. I think this purchase might persuade me to do a bit more shotting when tying rigs? I think If I were doing a lot of shallow fishing then pre shotting would definitely be an advantage....will be interesting to see how I am using it in 6 months time???
Picked my one up today. Very impressed. As you said you can customize to suit your own set up. Will be getting lots of use. I see the Rig pins has been mentioned. I use mainly Stotz so will use the slots to fit the 4 sizes i use.. Good review John. Cheers. PS, The outside of the box showed where the majority of the bits went.
Thanks for the review. I've been looking at the rig mate for a while but I can't justify spending that sort of money but I think this may prize open my wallet 😮
