I bought this last week and it's not really good. Your video does not show driving in front of the sun. It's blown out. The cabin video has a purple tinge or chromatic abberation. My night time video is grainy and very noisy. The app is horrible. You can basically only do viewing and downloading stuff. I returned it to Amazon because of all these issues. I just got a 70MAI 810 and the difference is night and day. The settings are mirrored in the app so you can change settings there instead of pressing buttons on the unit. The only thing that I don't like is the battery - it's not a capacitor. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Ok. I got it. Installed it. The video is quite helpful. A couple of things sucked. Trying to get to the screws through the top dash speaker is next to impossible. A supple of the USB cables seemed short to me. Tucking the harness and wires behind the factory unit was a pain. And if you aren’t careful with how the wires are routed down the AC vent space, the cup holder door will not open fully. It took me a few times to get all the wiring cleared. There really wasn’t good instructions to set the unit up and configure it. I got everything to work. It will be nice to have the CarPlay and it’s wireless. The touchscreen is also a nice feature. Going back to the Mercedes features is ok. But for some reason the unit displays a graphic on the left 1/4 of the display and hides part of what’s supposed to be displayed. It also blocks that portion of the back up camera image. I’ll do more research of that can be configured. All the sound seems to work. My phone connects and the sound comes through the speakers. It took me longer than I anticipated because of the access to the a screen mounting screwed and getting some wires to clear out of the center to get the console in and clear the cup holder door. I will update as time passes.
Hey quick question. Is there 2 belts ? Got light on for charging system and assumed alternator. Got alternator and was taking it apart. And noticed belt was completely gone. Had been shredded. And all data showed there to be a drive belt and then a stretch belt for assuming p/s. But every where I look they say it’s a singular belt and p/s is electric. Edit: also your crank pulley looks like mine and seems like it can hold 2 belts. So I’m not sure but I don’t see where 2nd belt would go to if was on back side of crank
You can always look for a PS reservoir under the hood to see if you have electric or hydraulic. My Flex EcoBoost has electric where the normal Flex has hydraulic, so if you have the SHO it should be electric and the N/A Taurus should be hydraulic.
You did to show rear camera view at the end but dude when you review, instead of your face in larger picture, put your self in the bottom corner and keep the main footage zoomed.
1:57 I just picked up an 01 TT and the whole window was detached with thick old glue and tape all over the window itself. 1. Take goof off professional super glue remover and a razor blade to get everything off then clean with glass cleaner and repeat. 2. Definitely get this HH 66 glue, lifesaver!!! Put on inside and out side inbetween seams of window and glass after the window is lined up. 3. Use two middle sized kickballs from inside the car to keep window in place while applying glue, trust me works and fits perfectly. 4. Buy some pole magnets, the ones that supposedly picks up loose screws and nails but you a magnet on each side of window where glue was applied to hold in place. They hold and don’t fall off as I was driving around 50moh with 6 of these big long magnets on my car, lol. Basically $100 fix and 1 hour to fix. I didn’t bother with the tape because I just wanted the window on and didn’t care if some of the dried glue was visible around the edges as well as the heated lines on my glass were already old and split/ not working. Thank you for the glue recommendation, best glue for the job!!!
Hi there. I’ve ordered the Race Intercooler for B9.5 Audi S5 SB. Just checked on Audizine that a customer had issues with black color coming out from the intercooler. How’s yours holding up? Still retaining its black color?
Hi there, great video! Do you happen to remember the part numbers for the two switches (Bluetooth and cruise control)? When I see the parts online, it appears the logos on the buttons are not there by default. Lastly, do you know if the carbon fiber sections click on the steering wheel? Mine is also the 2015 F-Type R. Many thanks!
Hi, I don't know the part numbers. Maybe you can check on this site: parts.harperjaguar.com/v-2015-jaguar-f-type--r--5-0l-v8-gas The carbon fiber sections click? Not sure I understand your question....
Great topic guys and you both bring great information regarding the state of the EV movement. I went and purchased the “we’re not ready “ T-shirt because I may never be ready! I love technology, but for me an EV will never fill the shoes of the combustion engine automobile with all of the mechanical tuning nuances and joy that they bring. The other component to automotive that really attracts people is design. In my humble opinion, the leading EV manufacturers have not taken advantage of the available space afforded by the lack of mechanical engines and components in EV’s to come out with a kick @ss futuristic design that would win people over. The vast majority of EV’s out there are just bland undesirable designs, at least in my opinion. When someone comes out with a more tempting and desirable bodywork design, some of us purists may be won over.
great point on the design! I think it's laziness from car companies to interpret electric as futuristic and futuristic as having to look like the Jawas transport in Star Wars. Very uninspiring indeed!
