Your telling us that after 7 years it started just like that come on them flying pigs in the back ground was more believable because they were doing back flips
Once the engine had cooled it was able to move.... however it had to be stripped and camshaft replaced along with piston ....rings and all seals.... splitting a two stroke casing isn't easy... we were $1000 to get this fixed....
How is this oiler holding up? Does it splash oil all over around the chain when riding? I've read through your build btw. I'm amazed how beautiful this 250 turned out. I just bought my first bike, a '99 Hornet :) It's a 600 though, not a 250, but looks just the same, as you already know.
Thanks bud.... The rate of flow you are seeing in this video is when it is set to 'prime'..... to fill the delivery tube.... once this is done, you dial back the reservoir to a scale of 1-10 ... (I usually have mine set around 3) and then the drip rate is far less..... enough to keep the chain well lubricated.... but not soaking everything in sight. Yes there is some oil that inevitably gets flung onto the wheel (not tyre) over time, but this is minimal and fine balancing of the drip rate will help to minimise this..... Hope this helps.... (As a matter of interest ...do you see the rebuild thread on the Hornets Nest....?)

Man you must have caught the rush hour. I've never seen so many people out there at one time before, had to be on a weekend. Last I heard, you couldn't get to the Bear Creek reservoir by that route anymore by truck. I'll have to take a ride out there soon and see if that's true.
Its good that you kept the original rear fender, i think they look much better than having them removed for the tail tidy one. my ZZR 1100 is completely stock apart from a smoked shield. i wont be removing the original exhausts because i think they look the best. there just huge and bulky and i love that on this bike.
Gorgeous color apart from the rear. that orange color doesn't go well with the rear lights and indicators which is why i bought the blue/teal one. if they had finished this off with purple around the tail light and indicators then it would look even better. IMO these ZZR's look much better than today's more modern looking bikes which is why i just bought a mint low millage D2 model and not a more modern machine. this looks much nicer than the plain and ugly ZZR 1200 and has more character. IMO those new head and tail lights on the 1200 ruined it. if they were slimier to the ZZR 1100 then i might of bought it but they don't have the beautiful color schemes of the old ZZR 1100's which is a shame.
Thanks bud..... Unfortunately... we had to return to the UK, and we had to leave the bike back on Vancouver Island.... it's still sitting in a friends garage completely crated and boxed.... but it will be getting sold soon to start a new life in Canada... :-(
I used to have an identical one to this - same colour scheme too. Fantastic bikes and a easy to work on too. Sold it for a CCM Supermoto. One extreme to the other....

I rode 53,000 km before I had to leave behind my same colors Ninja ZX-11 1993 because moving to an other country with bad roads more suitable for a DR350 dirt bike. :-( I'm nostalgic, that's why I look for vids about it & can't beleive the choice of crap music instead of the symphony of that engine revving!
