The Dad Life Fishing Adventures channel is all about spreading my joy of fishing with others and hopefully teaching you a tip or trick along the way to help you have a great time fishing as well :) Thanks for watching the channel and hope to see you next time out on the water! #dadlifefishingadventures
I’m not asking you to give away your exact location, but would you mind giving me an approximate place to launch/wade? I’ve never been there before. Thanks
There’s a variation on that rig using those same baits that is deadly! Put a swivel and a short leader with a hook and a rubber minnow through the main line and tie your main hook and minnow! Put a tiny split shot above maybe 5” on the main line! Cast a twitch the baits and they will dive and zig zag and drive the Smallies crazy! Largemouths too ! Really works! Watch out for doubles and followers!
Brother thanks for sharing your day on the river what a bite you had fish were crazy hungry lol! I’ve been watching bass fishing kayak tournaments on a lake and been watching a lot of river adventures and write they are just as much fun it not more! Tight lines take care and God bless!
Thanks for watching! Definitely during the fall period you can find some amazing bites especially on days that are slightly rainy and cloudy. This has been my second year of kayak bass fishing tournaments. It is super fun!
@@DadLifeFishingAdventures yes sir I have been very inspired to start my journey I have quite a few RU-vidrs I follow religiously who I am gaining a lot of knowledge and information about a very intense activity lol I am looking forward to getting into the kayak tournaments on the lakes as well as in the rivers! Tight lines take care have a bless say!
@@JakubPiotrowski. I did not necessarily, but it is not uncommon for there to be a break in period. Usually the noise our rough feel will go away after a couple outings. If it persists the I would expect a defect.
Just found your video and the Omnia app. I am sold on the app. I'm new to this kind of technology or any kind for that matter but wondered if the app shows your location on the map. Great job by the way.
Thanks 👍 I wasn't sure what to expect. I wanted to try it. A local said there were bass out there. The stupid tube is a great search bait and definitely paid off. I would love to take my kayak out on a calm day and fish some of the other rip-rap jetties in the area.
@DadLifeFishingAdventures It can be tough bank fishing in a big lake like that. There are some good bass and pike over there. Saw Greg use the stupid tube a few times too. Looks very effective.
@@southwestindianaoutdooradv4714 thanks 👍 it was a fun time. I've never had luck until this time. It was super fun. There was a lot more out there that you could kayak two on a calm day. That would be super fun.
didnt know the yellow even had that many decent smallmouth.. i know it connects with the kankakee river down near english lake...where you near that area or east of it..nice job
Been using mine for about a year and a half very very frequently as much as I take care of it it’s a bit scratched up and worn from normal wear and tear but man it’s still 100% functions and feels as smooth as it did brand new it’s crazy a reel so cheap can be made with such good quality
@@DadLifeFishingAdventures let me check… Mines a sit-down. Side note: Drain plugs are a point of potential failure. In a sit-in kayak, the goal is to keep the water out. If you were far from land and the drain plug got dislodged/leaked, you'd be in a ton of trouble. When you get to wherever you're going, it’s not a big deal to turn it over.
@@Kevin-co7dr yes This option would not work with a sit-in kayak like that. You may be more attuned to put a bright light in the The hall in the kayak with it sitting upside down and turn the lights off in the room and see if you can see the light shine through.
It was an awesome section of creek. I could of just kept going for hours. I waded about 3.5 miles of it during the tourney and it kept getting better and better. Thanks for watching.
Awesome day! I am yet to fish sugar and I think I need to do something about that in September. Congratulations on your best tourney ever. Hope the 🖕🏼is better 😂
Even though is this creek is in Indiana, it definitely reminds me of our creeks down here inTennessee. Great upload, Mike, maybe springtime you 2 can come down, and we can float my creek again.
Thanks for your video. I was seriously looking at this real (30 size), Walmart has it on sale for $84.00 normally $119.00 which may be a steal at that price over the Pflueger. Which Pflueger would you recommend is better for freshwater applications...Pflueger President XT Spinning Reel?
@@DadLifeFishingAdventures thanks for your reply. I was hoping that you can briefly explain why you think that the XT is a bit better? I have a 5'6" rod rated at 4-12Lbs IM6 graphite.
@@mden2490 I believe that the president xt and Revo x are comparable reels. I have had less line winding issues with the president xt which would be my reasoning. Otherwise they are interchangeable. I would suggest a size 25 reel for that rod as you should get better cast performance with the smaller spool.
@@DadLifeFishingAdventures When im reeling in the line, it is smooth but it also feels like the internal part is loose. For example, if I put one of my hand and hold the bail and use my other hand to wiggle the handle. It feels like it's a little loose with a little play. I bought a daiwa bg and has the same problem after one use. Never had any issues like this with any of my shimano reels.
@@kaeeroyal3124 I tried that with my daiwa and pflueger reels and they all have some level of play. The daiwa reels moved a little bit more. I don't feel that this a significant concern towards the dependability of the reel.
Hands down, the BEST Northern Pike spoon is the original Eppinger's red/white 2.0 oz. Dardevle in nickel finish. I have caught more fish on this lure than any other. Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, and Perch have all hit it. If I had to choose one lure, this would be it. This is a HEAVY spoon for casting, and so I usually troll it. However, with the right rod and reel, you certainly can cast it.
The jigs used here are 9.79 for a 5pk. These baits compete with the more expensive chatterbaits and you get more flexibility in color and design. I would also suggest looking at Barlow tackle which has some great products as well. I did another video in this series using their products.
@@DadLifeFishingAdventures I guess I didn’t see qty in a package. My bad. First thing I picked up on was the eye of the jig. Your video was kinda hard to identify, the linked website was very clear to see the eye. I tried making my own and first thing I saw was a sideways jig. I didn’t even know other companies made the eye in the opposite direction. Thumbs up on your video.
