Thank you for your comment! We are eager to update this deck once the Dimensional Force set releases in the TCG. “Beyond the Pendulum” (or whatever the name may translate to) provides an excellent boost to most pendulum strategies, Endymion included!

Our first recommendation instead of the Spellbook engine is a card such as Royal Magicial Library, to act as a replacement normal summon and also providing the ability to store counters and eventually remove three to draw a card. You could also play Magician’s Restage and Right/Left Hand to generate more spell counters with their activations. Pendulum Magicians could also be splashed into the deck to provide additional value on your pendulum summon and can typically generate spell counters fairly easily with their various effects to destroy themselves and gain additional advantage. This frees up a pendulum zone to continue activating additional magicians thereafter!

In this current format, you may consider playing floodgate style traps such as Gozen Match and Rivalry of Warlords, as the deck is relatively mono-attribute and type reliant respectively. This helps to further control the pace of the game ensuring you have ample time to setup a back row full of traps or a Toad and Dupe Frog. You may also opt to play Needlebug Nest if including additional Paleo traps, as it helps to improve the deck’s consistency using the paleo effects in the grave to special summon themselves and later overlay into a Toad or Opabinia .

Paleo Frog has a variety of options when deck building, and each has its strengths as well as weaknesses against the meta as it changes. With a card like Skill Drain back at three, it is important to have back row disruption built into the deck to ensure you are able to activate and resolve monster effects on the field, such as Swap frog and Accesscode/Borrelsword when trying to go for game. Additionally, traps such as Lost Wind and Torrential Tribute could prove rather powerful in this format to further control the game until you are able to summon one or multiple Toads! With this in mind, our personal build has stayed mostly the same, with the inclusion of an additional copy of Scapegoat, so an updated profile may not be released in the coming month but possibly the list thereafter!

Thank you for your comment. In this scenario, the summon of Ultimaya Tzolkin is a special summon rather than a synchro summon. This means you will not draw a card via the effect of T.G. Hyper Librarian on summon, since Librarian’s effect states “each time a synchro monster is synchro summoned.” We hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Our suggestion when opening a hand with mostly low pendulum scale monsters is, if your have access to Magical Abductor, normal summon it to have a card that is able to generate spell counters, and if you have access to Master Cerberus place it into the scale and use it’s effect to add Jackal King to start gaining spell counters for Abductor. This ensures you will be able to at least put two monsters on board, which may be linked into Crowley to add a Spellbook of Secrets, to then add Knowledge or the Magician of Prophecy, gaining maximum value out of your spell cards building up your spell counters on field. Of course, each hand may not be ideal and you may have to “clog” your scales in order to give you the one counter you need to resolve Magical Abductor or Servant of Endymion’s effect. The primary goal for the deck is to generate as many spell counters as possible through its various spell cards, and although we have not personally tested an expanded Spellbook engine, it may be beneficial to do so! As for the Dogmatika package, it could help the deck have additional interruptions, but the prospective downside of locking yourself out of being able to use the extra deck for a turn has us favor additional spell cards rather than the Dogmatika cards.
