@@raggamuffin2013 it's a beautiful place to live with lots of rich history but, in recent years has been neglected by Tendring Council. All the money seems to go to Clacton and other surrounding areas. I've been here 23 years now and boy have I seen things change. When I first moved here thee was hardly any crime and now crime is on the increase. In the last few days we've had 10 House burglaries in one small area. Robbery and violence has increased due to an influx of London based gangs moving there drug businesses here. Its still pretty safe compared to some areas and there is a lot of good people that still live here. It doesn't matter where you live in the UK now things are getting bad but Harwich is still one of the safest areas to live in. If you do move here I'm sure you will be very happy and I wish you all the best for the future.
Thank you for replying, that's a sad thing to hear so many robberies in such a Short time, is it always like that or is this something that has just started happening and likely a gang of opertunists. I did look at Clacton to move first but it feels less friendly than Harwich although I don't live there this was just my judgement when visiting the town.
@@raggamuffin2013 no this does not happen all the time. Now and again we have large spikes in crime. Like I said it is a safe area to live and my kids have had a good upbringing here and I don't worry so much when their out and about. My 18 Yr old girl has never had any problems being out with her mates at night. It can get a bit boring as there's not a lot happening. If you want the quiet life then Harwich is a good place to pick. I'm sure you'll be very happy here and there are more friendly people than there are horrible. I'd pick Harwich over Clacton any day and in the summer the place does liven up a bit and the beauty of the place sines through. Anything else you would like to know about Harwich please don't hesitate to ask.
