I think there is slight mistake. In the video it is stated that the shadow player cannot change an eye dice in the hunt box but the rules say on page 21 : "However, he cannot do the opposite and use an Elven Ring to change the result of an action die already showing an “Eye” result."" So it is any eye dice, not just the ones in the hunt box, that the shadow player cannot change.
Something I'm confused by, it says that killing the thief is a way to increase rage, but also after fighting the thief and killing it rage is decreased by 1. How does that work and which one is it?
I have a Death Star question. If the Imperials fleet including the Death Star activate a system which happens to be the Rebel Base, does the Combat Round commence immediately or do I have the opportunity to play a "Superlaser" mission card and blow the planet up? If the combat phase initiates, do I get the opportunity to play the Superlaser card at the end of 1 space and 1 ground round? When can I use the Superlaser mission card? In my most recent game the Rebel player ha the opportunity to use the Death Star Plans card after every Space battle round and I was under the impression that I couldn't use the superlaser until the combat was all resolved which was frustrating. Please Help
This is great. Not much I can say without copying others, but I appreciate how visually clear and concise this is. Root is a complex game in its strategy, but I've found it easy to play when you get going, because the faction boards walk you through how to play the turn. I personally find setup to be the most intimidating part of the game, and videos like this take away that stress. Thanks!
Hey question 🙂 haven't bought it yet but, obviously if you use the rings special ability, it goes to the shadow player, but does this mean now, you can change die results and not give it to the shadow player if you only did that?
Question. I played as the shadow, the other ran out of blue dice, and I had 3 palantirs. Does that mean I'm forced to use then, or can I pass the rest of the 3 actions?
So well done. This is the best tutorial/rules guide i have ever seen for any game. Perfectly paced, beautifully filmed, and your voice and manner of explanation makes it all easy to digest. 🏅
Buddy's of mine showed me this game. Being the analytical nerd I am. On Google and Yahoo, your play from zero point is the top reference. Thanks for putting this out there.
That’s because the first option is only applied if you have the type of unit matching the unit symbol in the card. If you do not have that kind of unit you can only use the bottom effect
