Aloha from the big island Hawaii 🎉 nice video. I am on my way back to Hua Hin in November. I was there in May , and looking forward to further exploring around.
I wish all foreigners except for those who are married to Filipinos should stay away from the Philippines. The Philippines' land area is very small but yet there are 118M of us and now it is overly populated. I hope they would consider going to Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam or Cambodia which have more space or territorial frame to live or retire.
Love your channel George. Only found this a few weeks ago... Looking at visiting and sussing out Hua Hin next year in view of moving there if it is what we are looking for.
hi George was married long time to Thai woman we still talk but anyway I go huahin every October for 5 or 6 months from cold uk do you have any guidance for insurance there in huahin or Thailand ?? be back there 14 October whooopi
@@georgenewmaninthailand2495 ah ok I was already thinking why is he talking about Sonkram ... :) I understood Sonkran ,the festival inApril :)...I do miss such a sport park in Hua Hin :) Greetz and have a nice day !
This reminds me of the jolly time I was walking around looking at condos in BKK, when suddenly a gang of soi dogs rushed me, and the leader decided to take a nice chunk out of my leg! Fortunately, a Thai guy came to the rescue with a large stick, and a friend took me to the hospital, where I received a big needle and was doted on by 12 lovely student nurses. It was certainly worth all the pain in the end!
Enjoyed watching it, George. Would love to settle in Hua Hin one day, when the time comes. I'll take you out for a beer... or a smoothie if you prefer.
Everything you said is everything I think I would absolutely love to do I sometimes think should I just sell my house I get over there Wah hin would be my chosen destination Hope you are keeping well I enjoy your videos I am in my late 50s and wah hin seems very laid back.
Great reasons to bail on the West and retire overseas. High cost of rent and food are keeping people poor and just scraping by here in the US. Planning to travel around SE Asia more early next year, and always keeping an eye out for places to possibly retire in at some point. New sub to your channel here. Greetings from Alaska! 👍
Ok. So as an American all I need is USD 24,000 in the bank? In addition to the 800,000 Baht, do I have to have an additional income? i.e. a pension or proof of income? Thank You
Hi George... This was a really great video with lots of really positive vibes..and as someine whose been there this year and actually coming back to Hua Hin in just 3 weeks ..it was fantastic! Thank you to Tracy & Ray and il be adding a follow right now ! Thanks of course to you for more belting content!! Philip from Newcastle Under Lyme ... the posh end of Stoke hahaha! 😂
Defo the posh end of stoke😂 maybe it changed a bit since I was there. Tracy and Ray are legends ❤️ glad your enjoying the videos there are plenty and I try and do one a week every Saturday
We stay up at at Hin Lek Fai. Rent a 5 year old villa. 3 bedroom, 2 Bathroom. Thai Kitchen outside.western kitchen inside. No Pool. 13 000 Baht Monthly. A quite popular area for families. Short way down to centrum and Beaches .
Yes long time ago used to be quiet but that was a long time ago not sure lately nice island but Koh Chang is better. I remember thinking at the time not sure now
America is NOT as bad as the media is portraying it for 365 million people. I Live in Orlando, fl and I sure as hell isn’t scared or feeling like there is a lot of crime. The actually crime in most places are in the major cities (downtown) ghetto areas. Most suburbs, rural area are very safe
agreed. I live in Cape Coral and although there is an uptick, it's not in my neighborhood and nobody I know is affected. So IDK what that means but I am guessing the bad is always the focus and magnified at times. Still want to travel tho.
@@Carnegiered52 what if i amass, say, 5 million at 60 but still don't know exactly what i want to do in retirement? do you think i should continue working indefinitely until i die?
George, from your experience how much monthly income would you say is sufficient for a reasonable retirement standard of living in Thailand? Cheers again 👍🙏
George...can you please find the video that you did on the practicalities of moving from the UK to Thailand or just point me in the right direction, I did try to find that video but couldnt. Also you talked about the temperatures..do you find Hua Hin acceptable for the heat? Thanks so much for these videos! They are really helpful. Cheers, Stu
Great upbeat vlog George! Up the Potters ha! Poor Hanley/ Stoke towns are in decline like many nothern towns in UK. Many past good times of course great folk that was...but UK changed so much and politics, cost of living and yea the crappy climate and overall grey miserable skies. So as a happy single retired guy whose visited Thailand this year again for 3 months, im back again in 23 days!!! Can't wait to leave the dark cold winter behind and chill in the friendly warm hospitality of Hua Hin and beyond ..❤ Sawadee ... yea!
Your right Thailand is safe compared to the west UK and America is not safe I never go out at night because of this in UK .weather awful in UK today's been nice but not to many more days of good weather before winter .don't agree with u about the women in Thailand most are after money that's why I'm going to retire some where else in Asia just discovered your channel keep up the good work .
Ya killing me George! 😂 I'm trying to push through 1 more year working in the crazy USA, to help build my pension $$$, before making the big move to Thailand...but I still visit 1 or 2x each year. I'll be visiting Hua Hin & Ko Samui, coming up in Feb. 😊
The year of your life is worth more than the net money you will earn, especially if you consider the lower cost of living in Thailand. Also keep in mind when you live here, you can lower costs to a fraction of what they are to you as a visitor. Events in my life made me retire early, and I'm so glad I did. Just make sure you cancel all your subscriptions before you retire - it's really difficult to get it done once here. 😂
Hi George so yes to all your questions. I’m an ex Brit living in Australia. Unable to retire due to high cost of living. So after numbers of visits the move is urgently required. The tourist destinations are not suitable so looking at alternatives at the moment.
George thanks for this but could you tell us how to make a move from the UK in terms of the practical aspects? Where do you look for a house? hkw do you transport possessions from the UK? What paperwork and retirement visa do you need and how do you apply, how do you set up healthcare and what about the langauge etc? This would really help! Cheers my friend!
@@georgenewmaninthailand2495Oh, wish I had seen that one...cheers anyway. Im thinking of moving there but not sure how to kickstart the whole process! 👍
How do you phyically do the move though? How do you get your possessions over there, how do you find a place to live etc? Would love a video on the practical aspects of the move. Cheers!
