Welcome to Wolverton Centre Sidings, the channel which is dedicated to the OO gauge model railway I am building in my shed.
Ill be showing the build as it progresses and the occasional tutorial to demonstrate the modelling techniques and materials I use.
Occasionally there will be videos of exhibitions and preserved railways.
I hope you enjoy the channel, if you do, please consider subscribing. It doesn't cost you anything but it does tell me that people are enjoying the content I make. Could I also ask that you like and share the videos as it helps like minded modellers who may find the content I produce find the channel.
Finally please feel free to comment as I am always open to suggestions and constructive criticism and am happy to answer questions you may have.
I don't ask for Patrons, I don't ask for memberships and I don't make any money from my videos,
I do it for fun and to share my journey with like minded people.
Cheers
Steve

@wolvertoncentresidings5676
@wolvertoncentresidings5676 2 месяца назад
Of course. I actually encourage questions! The shed is 25 by 12 feet. Inside it's about 6 inches smaller all round because of the insulation. This makes the layout 24.5 by 11. 5. The base boards are 3 feet deep along each side and the connecting " bridges" are 18 inches wide. It's 4 feet off the floor as I'm quite tall and I also needed to use the space beneath for storage and my bike. When I'm sat the layout is at eye level. Cheers Steve

Hello, I have 9 Hornby Touax container wagons and I have Hunt intermediate magnetic couplings on mine. They all run fine on my 18'x18' layout with gradients to upper level. I changed to magnetic coupling due to tensions uncoupling going down gradient. I don't know what you have on your wagons? but if you have tension couplings on I suggest changing to magnetic. I find derailing is not always wheels back to back incorrect or bogie fault, changing to a different type of coupling such as KDE or magnetic sometimes cures the problem. Thanks for a excellent video and I admire your layout, Bill.

@@maringarvanovic8011 To be Honest I thought the colour difference was down to the settings on my monitor until another viewer pointed it out. Now I can't unsee it!! Apparently Accurascale just copied the Hattons colours! You are quite right, if Hornby had got this wrong they wouldn't live it down 😂. Accurascale are not perfect and I've mentioned this in the video in regards to the length of time it took to deliver the thing, and the ridiculous size of the box with insufficient padding. There's another recent review (Suzanna Joaquin. Mildan hall & district) which points out the same issues. Thanks for commenting. Steve

@@vcs00railwaySadly not! Hornbys first G and W release of 66413 Lest we forget, was this paler livery and absolutely correct. Freightliner decided to darken things up when the next loco so treated was 66623 but by then Hornby and Hattons had already produced them in the paler orange and was too late to do anything about it. So obviously Accurascale copied 66623's livery, no other research other than that had been done. Ironically the box art and loco portrayed are the perfect tone, open the box and well simply a ahock! I was so disappointed. If plenty of modellers were to point it out to Accurascale then just maybe they would correct rhe body and replace them. After all Bachmann did with the DRS class 20 and so did Dapol with their DRS class 68's.

HI what a nice loco. I have a couple of Accurascale locos and the Deltic and 37 both sound amazing, although I found them way too loud, and had to alter the cv's to reduce the sound level, maybe they listened to feed back and lowered the volume level at the factory. I read some of your comments below, people commenting on the EM2 speaker being changed in these locos...........to my ear the EM2 always sounds like it has way too much bass to the point of making the engine sounds wrong............However so many people say they are great, that they have become the "must have" speaker.............Personally I like the Rail Exclusive Boomers and Sugar Cube speakers..............I agree with your comment about the packaging. The warehouse Accurascale use must just use whatever box they have available and chuck a load to bubble packing in to fill the space! At least your loco wasn't damaged! All the very best Dave.

@RedShedNick 2 месяца назад
Enjoyed this, was waiting for a review on 66415,i totally agree that the Bachmann and Hattons 66's are perfectly decent models, and would be reluctant to part with any of them. They Accurascale have definitely nailed the sound, and at long last the best sound to date. I found the Hattons sound good though it was far to bass. This and the lighting is spot on. The box art is absolutely fantastic, it definitely pulls you in. I recieved mine today from my good friend Jim at the Locoshed in Whitefield Manchester. I have only one gripe and that is the livery. Its no where near orangey enough to the prototype. They have followed the Hattons 66623 which was also to pale. The irony is it shows the proper tone of orange on the box art. Admit im a rivet counter when it comes to liveries and logo 's. If you Google 66415 you will see what i mean. The first livery of the G and W Jaffa cake livery applied to 66413 was also the pale orange tone but Freightliner amended it to the brighter orange. A very good analysis of this fine loco and i have ordered three more, only dont tell the wife! Value for money, most definitely, well done Accurascale Great review from you and really enjoyed, cheers Nick

I have an Accurascale Manor that blew the sound chip after about 2 minutes of running. I returned it to the shop I purchased it from and they sent the chip to Accurascale who replaced it and then the guy at the shop tested it and ran it for an hour with no problems before I picked it up. I also had a part fall off a 37 (it was a wrong part). I contacted accurascale by email and they replied within 10 minutes, by 20 minutes they were arranging the correct part to be sent to me in Australia. Meanwhile on one of N scale Dapol DMU's the BR logo was reversed on the body, a whole batch was printed wrong!!! They promised to send out new bodies to all those affected within 3 months..seemed very optimistic to only take that long...a couple of years later we are still waiting. I didn't hold my breath. Every time I contact them the replies range from "soon" to no reply whatsoever. So Accurascale for me are doing very very well.
