If you are the original owner Delta will send you a replacement cartridge for free. A strap wrench is better for removing the sleeve without marking the chromed piece
My bonnet nut was frozen by lime and time or whatever. I could NOT get it off. Tried heat, penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench), etc. No luck. So I put it back together to buy some time. Two months later I tried again: nut came off with a tap on the end of a pipe wrench. Easy as pie. I'm thinking the penetrating oil did its job, just needed more time. Soooo, to you amateurs out there, use Liquid Wrench, wait a day or two, then try again. Worked for me like a charm (though I waited more than a day or two).
I just tried this method with my hobby soldering iron. I melt through on one line, and snapped the rest of nylon bolt twisting with needle-nose plier. Yes, it worked. One time, I was thinking of trying with tip of glue gun, but I tried solder iron because I don't have time this time. I will try with glue gun next time if I have to. Enjoy a new toilet seat, everyone.

Little late here, but curious if you have any recommendations on how to even temporarily fix a cracked frame like this one… but without a nail gun or large C clamp?😬
Maybe Rename it "Altmans Bathroom Spout Repaired". I have an old Altmans cartridge that just looks like it simply needs a new washer at the bottom, but I'm not sure how to size it. Maybe one of your other videos.

Great hack. I’m going to try a chisel and a candle lighter to get the other on off that wants to stay there for life. Thanks for this great video and the comments of others. Maybe now I can stop banging my head against the wall.
your video helped me soo much today! I tried many methods before see your video... but the 2nd one for the Edison bulb worked Super well...and the tio for the light spray to the bulb was amazing as it was a kitchen above the sink light ❤ Thank you and keep the good tips comming.
Good tip of finding the Model # on the parts when disassembled. I have an older model that I couldn't find, the parts number helped me find the right one!
So, I accidentally cut through the threads on the valve body when cutting off the bonnet ring. Installed all new parts and tightened down the new bonnet ring and seems to be working well without any leaks. Should I be worried that it might start leaking down the line?
