@@robedwards6926 I went with the 14 this time. I picked up the TKO-CX in 12.7mm and I'm terrible with it. The paddle has a beautiful and powerful sweet spot, unlike many of the paddles I've owned, but toward the upper edges this paddle was really unforgiving and jarring for me. Plus I don't have the hands to reset it properly against higher level players. Hoping the 14mm will provide a softer feel and more control oriented. I love my PIKKL Hurricane Pro paddles in both 14 and 16mm, so the thought of having a hybrid version of this with a Bantam seems too good to pass up!
With the popularity of the Type A models, the Type B stock levels have been very low, but if we are able to restock them, we will do our best to post an in depth comparison. - Joseph
If purchased from a retailer like big 5, it's most likely legit. There have been many iterations of the Radical Pro though, so the question may be which one is it? The graphics change every time a new one is released, so that's your best bet. - Joseph
I just played with mine and I was wondering if your white and blue paddles have yellow marks all over it from hitting the pickleball? I’m sure it is just cosmetic but it is unsightly imo.
The white models show ball dust and residue more than the others, and while you can clean the face of the paddle with a microfiber cloth, it's likely that some residue will still show through. It is only a cosmetic impact fortunately. - Joseph
Thanks for catching that! Our Caliper testing shows the total core thickness as 15.8mm. Sometimes, manufacturers will supply the true "core thickness" that does not take into account the thickness of the face sheets, and that number can get used interchangeably and cause confusion. We will work with Proton to clarify the paddle thickness moving forward. - Joseph
Please review the Temptest paddles, I would like to know how control oriented these paddles really are and how much, if any power potential is anyone giving up by going with the Temptest. Thanks!
Great question! It's somewhat of an illusion, but when we cut the paddle in half, with the structure broken down, it actually bends and becomes floppy, so the handle on the right is just bent away from the camera making it look shorter. - Joseph
Beautiful looking paddle. Very interested to see if the stat sheet makes it worth it. Hard to understand why any paddle has a price tag over $220 given the performance and playability of them.
Both score highly, and while we don't have the reps to say how the Series 4 plays broken in, I'll try to answer here. Brand new, the Series 4 has more spin potential in comparison to a new Series 1, but a broken in Series 1 still likely takes the cake in spin. The Series 4 does have more power though, and it definitely takes less effort to generate pace and spin. With both paddles, we feel confident brushing the ball knowing it will catch and release. - Joseph
I never tried the previous version, but new seem to have small sweet spot. The ball is dying closer to the edges, if you accidentally hit close to the handle: the ball dies instantly.
Any covered pickleball courts in India? Apart from that is there anyone willing to help I'm new to this industry know nothing about it and am looking for an experienced person who can help me out?
It has premium great ankle support once you use the runners knot. Without it, on heavy pivots I found my heel sliding up and it made the whole system less stable. - Joseph
Wilson's previous ventures into pickleball definitely set them back, but their latest models were a big step forward and are still underrated in my opinion. I'd love to see them sponsor more players on tour to really get the word out. - Joseph
Have a question when serving to opponent cross court, their partner is standing at the net right beside the center line. This is distracting and intimidating. Tournaments it can be called for distraction, is there anything one do. They said from a class they were told by instructor to do this. Thanks Paula
If comparing the elongated models, how would you compare the spin potential on the Series Three to a Series One that has been 'broken in'? Also, are you able to share any numbers or compare spin on Series Three vs Series One after, say, a month of use?
A broken in Series 1 paddle is hard to beat for spin potential, and while new we would easily give the edge to the Series 3, the Series 1 provides noticeably higher spin potential after a month of play. For the Series 3, like all "Raw" faced paddles, the spin potential does wear and degrade over time, but I'm confident that the Series 3 texture is as durable as any other comparable model, and at the end of our collective playtest on the paddle, we were still getting competitive spin. We are working on getting numbers associated with the spin potential of paddles in testing, but we don't have them at this time. - Joseph
