I think the origional hammer was released under the Proto name. Still Stanley Black & Decker as you mentioned. I've got the Proto 3 lb, and it's awesome👌
Unfortunately when the pliers are on the ×4 position the handles are further appart. When they're further appart the rubber band applies more force due to it being stretched further and squeezing harder. Not sure how to accurately test those but that way can be a little deceiving I think. Good video to show the capabilities though, and I definitely think they grip much better! Im just being another annoying internet keyboard commando lol
Hey! yeah the test isn't very accurate but I urge everyone to try em on the Snap-On truck before buying em. They really work well. I honestly wish they combo this high leverage tech with the Flank Jaw pliers as those things could do with more force on the jaws
@ReadlineReady Yeah, that would be handy! I usually use my Knipex Pliers Wrench when I wanna hold a nut or bolt without marring it, and I don't feel like grabbing the proper sized wrench. If you haven't tried the Pliers wrench, they're game changers. I carry the little 6" in my pocket. It applies much more force as well, and goes from 0 to over an inch. Nice for AN aluminum fittings and bending flat things too. I'll probly still grab a set of those Pliers though! Thanks
I have actually heard good things about those pliers, hoping to get one soon. I have the Duratech universal wrench which I carry around all the time, it can be used as a hammer too. But it's limited to what sizes you can fit. Its a closed adjustable so it does not slip at all though
@@Fabian7024 dude if you can't figure it out then educate yourself. Not all mechanics make what you do and have to settle for stuff on a budget not everyone can run to snap on everytime they need something
I don't make any higher than most Mechanics. I have an average salary but live in a terribly expensive city to live in. Here's how I save. I don't have doordash, I don't have uber eats, I don't have a car payment, got my car from a salvage auction. Don't eat out everyday, I don't have netflix or any other tv plan, don't have a impulse buying addiction other than the occasional cheap purchase, I buy clothes from discount shops. I am also single and stay away from relationships. You get the point. I don't blow my money on useless things so yeah, I can buy the occasional Snap On tool. But remember, I still have a majority of Amazon brands. I won't overpay for anything I can get cheaper. You can save money, it just takes sacrifice.
My truck has it but i dont use it. The water pump will still run and stuff while engine is off to balance cooling. If oil temp is higher after a good tow up a mountain it wont shut off when it stops. Or if ac is on. Transmission pumps and coolant still run when engine is off.
This was a great video. I really enjoyed this. Your cart is set up very nice. Do you have wrenches or screwdrivers that you carry in the cart also? Or you just don’t need them for the jobs that you do? Just curious. Thanks! SUBBED YOUR CHANNEL!!! Great content on here! ARCO MN OUTLAW CUSTOMS (Outlaw edge RU-vid channel )
Thanks! Yes actually, I did update this tray as it's clearly too small. I did a follow up video on it with a new MAC tote tray. That was also further updated and i'll do a video on that soon.
I've been using the same one for a few years with zero issues. I have no idea how well it was calibrated at the factory or how well the calibration has held up. I always set it back down to 10 ft-lbs when I'm done with it. I also have an electronic digital torque adapter. The little brick that attaches between a driver head and socket. But I haven't used it in a while, basically forgot that I had it. I'll check the calibration of the two against each other next time I use 'em. 👍🏾
You have a great selection of tools in your tray. Looking at the tray, it didn’t look like you had too much, but you selected a an excellent selection to have in your tray. Simple yet very thorough.
Thank you! Since this video, Ive added a Milwaukee M12 ratchet to it as well. I never really used it much before but I recently figured out how much quicker I can get things done so it was a no brainer! The deep sockets also got replaced by a Capri tools deep impact socket set.
Take it back and switch it for another of the exact same type. If you get the same readings, you’re most likely doing something wrong. If you get higher readings, the first one was defective.
0.40 seconds - "I'm not going to hate on Snap-On"........followed by seven minutes of hating on Snap-On ! I rarely buy Snap-On either, I agree they are often too dear, but at least cut or crimp a bit of wire for your comparison
I just used this hammer at my buddy's to slam a knuckle onto a fussy strut and it was glorious. Huge swings, positive feel--I want to make love to this hammer.
Common sense without knowledge is not much use. Before putting out this crap he should learn about the subject. What he says is 100% correct although there is a big BUT. He has not learnt that these cars are designed to cope with this technology. Maybe his dodgy Bimer needs special care but that is a specific case not relevant to other cars. Don't be fooled by these people who don't know what they are talking about. If anyone disagrees with me, please show me evidence I am wrong and not just your unfounded opinions.
My friend’s girlfriend had a brand new BMW SUV whose starter motor went out at 57k miles. She does mostly city driving so the start stop is used regularly. She has since disabled the system after having to pay hundreds of dollars to replace the starter on a 4 and a half year old car.
I forgot to add that I like this Wera version much more than the Wiha version of the tool. Of course I also must confess that I also have chinese versions of this tool that work very well.
I just picked up a set for under 59.99 on Black Friday special. A note on the Life Time warranty, if one of the wrenches gets damaged, you have to bring in the entire set to get it replaced. That's what I was told, so don't loan out a wrench, and keep your receipt. This is a quality set, for the price you can't beat it.
Not saying that a good quality stainless steel wouldn't make more sense, but Snap On may have opted for a harder steel, something that would hold an edge better, but which would require proper care and maintenance, and that type of steel might be more expensive, contributing to the price...though I agree that $70 still seems a bit much.
@@cyrixone2771 no worries man, these are the best bit type mini ratchets... There's an even tinier 1/4 socket if you want it's the Milwaukee stubby, man that thing is a king! But if you look at say like hex or torx sockets the sizing is too big... That's why I needed a bit ratchet to compensate for the extra gain... Just something to think about... Vessel make a very very good one too I think it might even be better same with a bahco one I've been looking at too...
