goliath tigerfish for life, raw and uncut and real as it ever gets. tank is a 17000 liter 300w - 505d - 115high cm and a foodgrade steelconstruction made to last a lifetime. ten eheim 2080 with twice as many prefilters run the show. big surprize for most these creatures gets extremely intelligent with age living a natural lifestyle in a pretty natural invirement with no unnatural stress. after all they are the true apex predator and i bow in awe to have true friends like that, i love these creatures to death.
@@alexisprudhomme9349 dang yt deleted my answer to you once again short after your question i anwered, i just saw now yt freaking deleted it again. this one is easy to redo as it was short it goes like this if not deleted again 20-30 depending on size
thanks brother, no only what he can catch himself. its kind of weird i just posted a long azz answer to your question but somehow yt deleted it, not the first time they did so very unfortunately
@@alexisprudhomme9349 yeah i was a downer by yt indeed, happened 4-5 times or so recently this was my longest reply they deleted and not even a cuzz word involved nor the other times, thanks brother next time i will have more patience and try to reconstruct the missing message if deleted with slightly other words to allow getting posted.
Hello, how can you tell the difference that it's a male? Is there another characteristic other than the fact that the females are larger than the males? Greeting
he lived with a female more than eight years, it was easy to see the difference, which are bigger teeth and slender body with kind of a hunchback where the females bag are rounded more evenly and the redness in the male tail much stronger regardless the female dominated him the first six years or so before he turned the table, and as you said females grow faster and bigger but not their teeth😁
@@chainsawtrout4342 hi thank you for your information, I have 5 goliaths swimming together in the pool but they are all only about eight to twenty cm tall. The one I've had the longest is still the smallest of all five, the others were about the same size but are all bigger now, now I'm thinking that the smallest one could possibly be a male because he doesn't grow as quickly as the others. Could I be right? They all always get food at the same time and do they all eat?! greeting
@@user-id4uq8fv2n your most welcome my friend👍 thats awesome how big the pool and how long in cm are your tigers? you certainly could, how long have you had your tigers?
@@chainsawtrout4342 Hi my aquarium is 8*3*3ft and the tigers are about 20cm tall. They are still young, I have had them for almost a year. All but two of the goliaths are swimming in a slightly smaller aquarium for the time being. How big is your aquarium with only the male swimming in it?
@@user-id4uq8fv2n thanks for answering👍 it could be to early to call with certain, i could be wrong as this male goliath already at only 5-6 inch or so had way stronger red in the bottom tail in a scaped tank than the bigger female he lived with more than eight years, the male hunchback is when they mature. i have two tanks with a male goliath this one 10*4,5*2,333 and will be upgraded the other one about 10*17*4
thanks brother and what a great question that is, this is one of the main reasons the tank being that deep, the invisible wall is generally a big concern when you dealing with the fastest fish in business, that being said im not the least worried as he is extremely aware about the glass his single biggest challenge and he knows, he is unreal intelligent to say the least.
thanks buddy, yeah this is the tank he shared with some other tigers inclusive a female goliath [no love lost between the goliaths] for almost a decade before he finished the big vittatus female eventually not that long ago, i will upgrade this tank too pretty soon and give him what he wants and deserve a big hunting ground for good.
good question👍 not necessarily as they live in lakes too, but in a tank there need to be some current just to make the filters work about 1,5 turnover an our is what i do, and funny fact my tigers has always avoided the direct current from pump outlets and preferred the calm water without exceptions for more than twelve years, in my experience they do not need current if the water parameters are stabile [only in nature] but they like and prefer an ever so slight current where they can comfortably rest and relax when not hunting.
So beautiful! I was wondering, what got you get such a giant set up and wonderful tank? Did you build it for this fish in particular or were you caring for other fishs before hand? I’m kind of curious for what lead to this haha! Great vid brother
👍 these creatures are my long life passion, and always being my highest goal in life to get under their skin so to say, no matter the costs as i love these creatures to death to say the least, tank is build entirely for tiger fish, it took about four years to build. thanks brother highly appreciated.
it would bother him if i walked in, as he is extremely territorial so i only stick my arms in doing maintenance which always are interesting to say the least⛓🪚🦈 thanks bro♥
@@BadlydrawnBen he had a hard time catching his food between plants [its only very recently i started to fed him dead fish once in a while] long story short i added 10 grass carps or more to trim the plants to make his hunting less frustrating in a tank way to small for his good, they trimmed the plants more than i could ask for, and was a healthy treat to eat by champ afterwards.
@@chainsawtrout4342 I remember the huge crypts I can see how they would interfere with his hunting, at least he gets to eat some vegetarians 😁 how big is his tank ?
@@BadlydrawnBen the crypts are actually in two of my other tanks i had posted way back, it has always ben various swords and a lot of other plants which got eaten years ago by the mini lobsters but never crypts in this tank, haha that was my thought too. only 750 gallon 10w - 4,5d - 2,333high
Had a baby goliat on a 1000liter tank for 6 months, didnt manage to make him survive its a really fragile fish when young not recommended. Impressive and intimidating tho. I'm glad yours looks healthy
sorry to hear, and i absolutely agree they are not suited at all for an ordinary aquarium, they need a huge scaped environment where they can hunt and rule as they should, that is the whole reason being a solitary living apex predator when adult. thanks my friend♥
How big is this tank, im loving this tank setup as i do have some baby aimara wolf fish growing up and hoping to make them a cool river system tank setup too.
glad your back, yeah after he killed my huge vittatus princess i gave him a lot of grass carps to eat and trim the plants, at the same time i took out some big driftwood which both making hunting easier for him in a tank way to small, i will upgrade though.
Year janus tells me last day@@chainsawtrout4342😂 nice hes funny Janus sometimes i go tropeland for talk with Janus. I have My tigers in denmark. Where Are your tigers lokation💪🔥
Did you use aquasoil for the valisneria to grow up? And how about the fish excrement on tue bottom. How do you deal with them good sir? Thank you 🙏 (Would love to adopt the style of your tank)
no i used a mix of dennerle, tropica and jbl if i remember right under the dennerle crystal quartz. the mini lobsters in the tank take care of any fish excrement as they are a big part of their diet, and they break al organic stuff up so the debris sooner or later being catch by the prefilters or filter media which i often rinse to get the gunk out of the tank. your very welcome my friend.
your aquarium will be my reference for my pond in my new house. Genuinely stunning. I didn't expect to stumble across your channel. You should add more fish, if you wanna but to me this looks perfect
@@xxdamirxx564 i would not call them tiny being 7-8 inch even they can be a foot as i know by experience, but golden they are for an easier catch as algae eaters are serious healthy food.
yeah absolutely if the swordtails are big they gonna be eaten for sure, he has almost eaten all the sailfin mollies in his tank about same size as big swordtails and still hunting the few left.
thanks man highly appreciated. in my experience they are not the least fragile, but extremely demanding to say the least especially when small where they are extremely sensitive and true flighters, they change their attitude completely in adulthood as they know they are second to none and a true apex predator at least in a pretty natural hunting environment, this guy gonna get a proper tank one day, and i can hardly wait to say the least.
