No offense at all, but do you think this is perfect form? Based on what I have been taught there are a few errors, but I would like to hear another perspective.
@@ja1russs667 great question! Couple things. First, make sure your hand is big shaped like a ball - curved and open and flexible. Then you want to think about wrapping your hand around the ball on contact with a loose wrist. The other thing that usually leads to hitting the ball with with your wrist is letting the ball drop a little bit too much and swinging too late. If you’re contacting the ball with your wrist, it means your hand is actually ABOVE the ball so you would need to swing a little earlier when the ball is higher so that you can reach up to it and get a good hand contact. You’ll be able to tell by the sound if it’s a good contact (loud smack sound). Hope that helps!
Video title is “volleyball arm mechanics” and yet I learned nothing about how to hit a volleyball better. Video should have been titled, “watch how good I am at a sport I don’t even play anymore in slow motion”
Sorry, Mike! This video was part of a curriculum for the coaches at our club and has a correlating PDF with a true breakdown of the movement. This video was just meant to be a visual for that document. If you’d like, I’d be happy to send you that stuff. Let me know!
Nope you can learn so much from this video. You can just try to recreate all the movements in the video. Hip shoulder separation, curricular arm swing and so forth
Hi! You will need to have your coach or club director email it to you, they should have the permissions to email a download link to any playlist. Hope that helps!
