The toxicity lived on, Will try to clip out Doki's laugh and her personality that would made your day. Also might start to clip other vtubers as well, But mostly will be focus on Doki.
As a son of two Cantonese speaking parents, I can say that Doki did a good job. I can't speak well, but I know good Cantonese when I hear it. I can even get an idea of what shes saying without reading the subtitles.
People who are not of Chinese descent will say they are dialects, but tbh, Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Teo Chew, etc etc are practically different languages to Mandarin. Like how lots of European languages came from Latin but they are not the same
True, but it is also a political thing, I guess. Cause like in Norway they have hundreds of dialects and some of them are maybe even farther from the official dialect than danish or swedish, but still is considered a dialect, not a language. There was a cool quote about dialects and languages and I forgot how it goes, but it's something like "a language is a dialect with guns" or maybe it was navy... I don't remember. Anyway, whatever it is, I really like different languages or dialects anywhere... Or even one word that people from different countries pronounce differently that is also very interesting
the thing is that people of chinese descent, especially if you speak modern standard Mandarin or are from the mainland or nationalist, still call them dialects. Sometimes for lack o a better term
It's like english and french. English have shit ton of french words, like third of them are french or have french origin, but english speaking people can't speak french.
@@BeastOrGod not really, your comparison is more suited for chinese-japanese-korean, as a number of words/phrases have a Chinese origin, but each language user dont necessarily know to speak the other two. Mandarin and the other Chinese dialects are still within the same language, written Hakka/Hokkien/Cantonese is still using Chinese characters
My Grandpa sold firewood and spoke 7 dialects Unfortunately the older generation on both sides of the family had the "We are Americans now" so my parents and I are only bad at speaking and understanding English 😹
rice rice i dont really use that term of rice, it sounds weird maybe because its a direct translation to Hiiro's answer . but it's quite understandable
The Mandarin word should be mee fun but her pronunciation is a bit bad. Dokibird was a bit confuse as well. The Cantonese should sound like mei fun. I live in Malaysia. We call it meehoon or bihun because of the hokkien accent.
Reminds me of when she and Enna were talking about M's. Emma also only spoke Mandarin (which I assume is what Hiiro's speaking) while Selen also only spoke Cantonese there iirc.
thanks for the clip!! Doki's cantonese is so cute!! Thanks for those cantonese sub (it's ~90% correct and which is amazing!!) 2:44 Doki:佢依加扮緊佢識聽我講咩野 (She is pretending she understands what i am saying)
I miss my toxic purple dragon. I'm supporting my toxic yellow bird these days, but a yellow bird isn't the same as a purple dragon. The Black Company murdered and buried Selen, but i'll never forget. And i'll never forgive either.
