The Department of Textiles and Garments of Gurukul was started in 2009, only to work on the teaching of textile and garment subjects in the polytechnics under the Gurukul Trust. Since the launch of the "Gurukul Online Learning Network", the department has been working to develop textile and garment education materials for all education systems, including the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Polytechnic and Vocational) and university level textile and garment curriculum.
