Anyone who insists I respond to them with "yes <insert their occupation here>" is going to get a quick "go fuck yourself" from me. I'm not playing that heihractal bullshit and classim.
Too many soft people in the comments 😂. It’s called having thick skin - either you have it or you’ll learn to have it. If not then gtfo and stop wasting time because other’s would die to be in the same position to learn from a great.
It's wild to see Gordon so silent, so humble, just learning. He was watching every move his chef made. Seeing this it's no wonder he's got no patience for people who refuse to learn simple lessons, he knows what dedication looks like.
Marco is that one guy in a multiplayer game that shows up with a default character and win for the side he plays for. He is like Colenel 100 from Battle Field Friends.
Talk to him like that and he loses his mind. I’ve seen videos of him failing and I wish, I wish someone would go in on him like that (knowing him it wouldn’t mean anything though lol)
Gordon is one of the few where he goes in hard and you think it’s done but then he goes in harder and you think it’s done and then he absolutely goes to hell with you
Skill for sure.. but it's also luck. I am 29 yo and have a decade on my back... still demi-chef de partie... I have no aim to reach executive, no no no... too stressful honestly. Instead I want to reach the "simple" title of chef de partie of my favorite section, which is entremetier. Here in Italy is a foundamental pillar as it does pasta and risotto which are the heart and pround of every italian people.. At least, I like to imagine that way.
Honestly this is why i respect Gordan. He learned and didnt think he was anazing from the beginning. He shut up, did what he was told aka the basics, and learned to grow. Its pretty amazing where he has gotten to.
We don’t go into everything knowing it all! We all have to learn from the amazing people before us that helped paved the way; and we have to have the discipline and consistency and obedience to put aside our egos/pride and understand we don’t know it all and there’s always much to learn.
I had a executive head chef who in the first 40seconds this reminded me of him straight away, 18 hours a day 6 days a week. We both work for a company that owns most hospo venues in our town I was the general manager for a nightclub for 2 years and 4 years bar sup before and he saw the way and effort I put into work and he grabbed me and said I would give anything to have someone like you in my kitchen let me take you under my wing, All I know is the nightclub scene and I can't cook for shit tho, he said I'll teach you, I did copy and paste work I was only in the kitchen for 3 months when he sadly left and I followed(longstory), But I kid you not I stayed back and prepped for the next day and the morning with him I work 4 days and weekends in the clubs my only day off was Sunday and even then sometimes me and him would get called in I wasn't getting paid for extra but I don't work for money I do it for the love and respect of it. He was one hell of a person and chef one of the greats and he showed me that I was one of them too. I'll never forget him These exec chefs are fucking built different I tell you now
