Man I want Heat Signature 2 so bad. Imagine all the weird exploity tricks fleshed out into proper mechanics. Maybe all except the bash dash, but maybe it would be ok if you could just initiate mele attack without a valid target.
Coming back to this as I want to start up the game again after I died. The *biggest* reason that I can't stand death in this game, even though I am a supporter of all the other mechanics involving death, is that you lose all your companions. You have to go find them. This means you are not only a few levels lower, but you *also* lose out on the stat buffs you were relying on until now. What if you die in London, and you have to fight your way around monsters? Good luck doing that with no companion buffs and losing one of your weapons the game took from you. I would forgive this if I would respawn at The Reach so I could get all my companions again, or maybe better I would keep most companions except one or two. Losing all of them is ridiculous. I'll be cheating death to keep achievements active. No shame.
Yeah that is a fair criticism, and the upgraded companions are in different locations too. It gets a bit tedious having to gather your party again each time you start a new captain.
I HATE this squad. You don't have to be careful around buildings; you often get into situations where you just can't shift a vek without doing collateral damage to your own grid. I find them miserable to use except on maps that don't have many buildings.
I get that, I always found them fun, but you do need to make sure you try to position your mechs so the vek move towards them rather than the buildings where possible.
Note: jam fields do not stop the use of traps, like acid and crash traps. I believe glitch traps will always teleport the target out of the ship instead of their actual target?
I dont know if this is in a future video, but you can get around the bloodless vow on assassination missions by kidnapping the target and bringing them back to a station for drop off
very sound advices, thanks. I hoped you would talk a little bit about the pulse mech though. I know it is considered weak but all those shields can prove useful in my opinion. They pop up everythime you push something and can be applied to allies and buildings alike. Perfect for defensive mission objectives ! Which is the majority I think. I guess this squad is also quite defensive. That's why I like it so much !
Yeah same here ,i did explore 100% the first map and it just left so hollow just...fetch quests which dont reward you enough and just grind for fuel and rations..not to mention terror. Like a mouse chasing it's tale...feels like a game ment to be cheated with mods to enjoy the artstyle
I prefer to use a Marauder 2R with a pair of large lasers, a pair of medium lasers, and an AC/5 all with +Accuracy modifiers. A +4 Comm Suite helps with Morale, and I try to get my pilots up to Tactics 9 as soon as possible for the called shot mastery. But I also like to use missile boats and machine guns - volume of low-damage hits scattered across the enemy 'Mech means a high likelihood of non-penetrating head hits. With pilots of lower skill, called shots to a leg with +stability weapons aids in injuring the enemy pilot, and in the worst case you can take out the other leg while he's down, for 2 parts instead of 3. Always negotiate for 3 preferred salvage in any mission where you expect opposition that will yield good salvage (the "one very heavy 'Mech" missions are great for this).
I enjoyed the challenge of getting two of the achievements at once by running the three flying science mechs (Swap, Defense, Nano) together. This is not a particularly powerful squad, but they're very good at pushing Vek around. Acid-enhanced friendly fire is a thing. You'll generally want to add some real weapons, particularly for longer runs. But it's a viable squad.
thanks for interesting info. btw, do you know if sunless skies sprites for the entire map is available somewhere? the art is great but since zoom out is very limited, it's difficult to see the entire area. (only bits and pieces of it)
I just have the Science mech melee kill 1 HP Veks or have it block surfacing Vek after I gave it +2 HP and then repair if it doesn't have anything to do .
Saying thanks from four years later! PS5 version (currently?) doesn't have the blood trail indicators, and the southeast candle is completely shrouded in fog of war. The port is already so buggy I assumed they messed up the final fight, but your video showed me there are four candles instead of only three!
Just started playing this again after a few years. That Janus Cannon is rough. I found my Mirror mech doing nothing or tanking damage alot. The Ice Mech & the Janus cannon seem like they have to operate as one unit. Edit: Thanks for the video! The pilot choices made a HUGE difference!
The hook mech is really limited in use and then suddenly in the final island it’s kinda op. With all the one hit kill environmental effects you can easily pull high level vek in for one hit kills.
came here for sunless skies content, haven't finished getting through it all yet but you do good things for the community, I know for a fact the folks on reddit appreciate you and if you ever want a reminder or an ego-boost, trust me they'd give it to you faster than the sky rushing into the window to consume you
3 Rock mechs will basically trash all opposition to pieces quite easily... particularly if you get the double fire (if no move) pilot, you get 4 moves per turn, you can sort of position them so that enemies have no-where to hide... I don't think there is any easier way to finish the game than with 3 rock mechs... almost too easy.
sorry, I see someone posted the same thing already... and also that the correct name is bolder mech I guess, the one that throws rocks around. Those babies upgraded deal such a ridiculous amount of damage, you have sometimes 2 turns to spare with no enemies around.
I've found that even if you have no other equipment than any kind of gun, it's possible to shoot Trackers by finding a long corridor or wide open space, waiting by a corner, firing just before the Tracker arrives, and then taking cover behind the corner while the bullets are still travelling.
I searched on Satisfactory UI and got to here. I was interested in how and why my shortcuts bar keeps changing. You touched on it but fell sadly short of my needs. Ooops...
It has been quite a while since I have had a chance to dig into Satisfactory again, but as I recall you put items in your shortcut bar by hovering over them and pressing the number key. I don't know why it would change in play unless you are accidentally doing that. But also the game could have changed in the 18 months or so since I last played.
@@RannekoPlays No worries. I may have sounded too harsh. I have since learned what you described and can only assume that I may have "hammered" my way into changing the shortcuts in a not too infrequent attempt to change body appliances while free falling to a RESPAWN. Yikes. Carry on.
I hate this team so much its actually a scientific wonder, every small detail about them is terrible and they are bad at what they are supposed to do. If i were to balance them, i wouldn't; i would instead remove them from the game as they are a stain on an otherwise good and fun game.
Do you mean picking up the item I threw? An item close enough to you is merely picked up rather than teleported to you, it doesn't set off the timer and can be done outside of pause via E even when the item teleport timer is active, though the game chooses which item of the ones close to you are available for that though
Ranneko! In the flesh! As far as the game audio goes, could OBS be taking input from your headphone mic, which picks up the game audio from your headphones? As for # of players, most days I see top 1%, with it dipping down to 2% on some of the harder days. Also for comparison on Jan 28th, I catastrophically screwed up and got 38th place, which put me in the top 53%
