For people with low baritone range like Mark going very high like that part of the song requires does a number on your vocal cords. When you're touring and doing 15 shows a month you need to keep yourself in the best shape you can. He's shown he can do it live properly, search for the Dublin 2004 concert (though it's shit quality). It's just not worth the strain on his voice.
Omg, the amount of backing tracks is egregious! Tom's got a vocal backing track for the whole song, keys backing track and and lead guitar backing track. Wtf!?! Even with the vocal backing he couldn't sing the notes right and adds on his goofy ava yodels. I think he sold his soul round 05 and this is why we've never gotten the old Tom back!
