Hello, thanks for the comment. This is designed as an outer layer and first line of defence for you. Because of the amount it inflates it isn’t wise to wear this under your jacket
Hi Darren you will need either a MotoCan Controller or the EZCan controller (Gen2) that uses the EZBus white white Currently the Denali CanSmart Controller doesn’t have the EZBuz function yet Contact us for more information on ShinySideUpvalet@gmail.com
This is probably the best chain maintenance video I've seen so far on RU-vid. You're the first person who didn't spray chain lube all over their tire. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for commenting - currently you can only fit the Denali lights on your bike but as the Tiger doesn't have a Canbus controller available for it, you will only be able to control them with a switch or DialDim unit. We are happy to discus your options if you email us at shinysideupvalet@gmail.com
Hi there. I don't comment usually, but this time, I'll make an exception. From my point of view, having the D4's from Denali for at least 5 years, mounted on a RT I'll have to add that even the Lone Rider lights might be brighter they still lack many useful futures ... Please correct me if I'm wrong but they are not working with the BMW control wheel, you'll have to have a different switch mounted on the handlebar. The 3 times flash won't trigger the flashing from the additional lights (as Denali does), the same story when you're using the horn it won't trigger the flashing additional lights (as Denali). Only these 2 future alone saved me from a couple of accidents in the city. Another aspect is that it is not completely true what you've mentioned regarding Denali and their connectivity. For example, the horn is connecting directly on the original harness of BMW, so it won't take any other place. I had the horn installed (but the new RT has one as powerful as Denali, so I didn't changed it). I have the 2 D4's installed with the special brackets under the mirrors and the auxiliary brake light, and i recommend it, and i still have place left for additional lights. Another point (if I'm not wrong) you can use the Y cable from Denali and connect left and right additional lights in one slot. Please note that I have the first generation of the Denali D4's and controller box, which doesn't have as many options as the latest one. Also, they are not prepared for RT's ... there is no special mount for it. I hope you won't take my comment in a bad way, I really like the LoneRider lights, but I think Denali are more like an all purpose kind of lights while LoneRider are more like Off-Road (or only you on the road situation, which to be fair is like 10% of the riding time). Best regards
Your assumptions are as wrong as they can be. Denali CANsmart, the controller, is an OEM version of the HEX ezCAN. So is the Lone Rider MotoCAN. So you can program in the same "flash on pass", "flash on horn", etc. No extra switches. The only difference between the three is that the CANsmart comes with more cables in the box, and has a higher price. Plus Denali at the moment says they do not support the new HexBUS that Lone Rider uses, but I think they actually do. I upgraded one, and it is there in the application. (No surprise, as they all use the same software. The resource library contains different logos and icons, that are chosen based on what brand of controller you connect to the computer.)
Hello and firstly thank you for your comment and asking the questions - this may also help clear up some confusion for any other people watching/reading… The Denali lights you currently have will be using the Cansmart controller, which is a controller built and designed by Hex Innovate. This same design and controller system is used in the Hex EZCan and now the MotoCan controllers. So, to answer your first point - they will have the same functionality as your current set up and also more additional features. I will agree the strobe function on the flash to pass and horn is a fantastic feature! The SoundBomb horn you have installed can also be installed inline with the original OEM horn if you wish but works out more expensive to do it that way as requires a plug and play harness - if you were to add your SoundBomb onto the controller then you will twin link both horns together to create a fantastic “train horn” result. You mentioned about the Y-Split cable, which is a standard way to install the lights, but with the newer controllers you have the ability of having a left and right channel so you can request the left lights to flash (or go out) when indicating. This is a great feature to have when you have the amber lens’s installed and will create an additional indicator (more visibility = more information for other road users). However if you are happy with the pair of lights to operate “as one” then the y-split cable will be a great option. The MotoLights are fully certified to be road legal and will both enhance your visibility and cause you to be seen better, I would say they are MORE suited for on road usage with the addition of the DRL as indicators and the super strong beam patters for the road and path ahead of you. Both Denali and LoneRider have amazing auxiliary light solutions and there are other brands that are becoming bigger and better as well - we are still an advocate for any/all additional lighting is better than nothing so it just comes down to personal preference. If you have any more questions, then I would be happy to answer them for you, Kind regards, James
@@MidlandsMotorbikers Another advantage of connecting the SoundBomb to the ezCAN/x/x, is that you can program in a delay. So a short press on the button gives the friendly little beep, and a longer press gives the annoying bicyclist a heart attack. Granted, you do get some of the effect by using the stock horn wire to trigger a relay in parallel due to the inherent delay of the compressor, but you loose the really useful light flashing.
Point from me: manufacturers miss this part of the market where we ride retro bikes... we still want good aux lights but covered by a 60'-70's looking blurry glass. Imagine BMW R18 with these ultra modern looking leds it will clash
Awesome breakdown, and thanks. But I would like to know this, I am thinking, instead of having other smaller lights added to either of D7 Pros, or Lone rider, can one have both of them on a bike at the same time just as the same set up u have.? Was hoping u were going to touch on that.
Yes, absolutely however you will need to upgrade your alternator lol having both these lights on at 100% will cause your battery to struggle….. Honestly . You won’t need both at all
I ordered the D7 Pro just before Lone Rider showed his product. Fortunately I still could return the D7 Pro and order the Lone Rider lights. They look fantastic ❤
Perfect video. I have ordered a pair and now got an answer to a question I was going to ask Lone rider. if you had white drl switches to yellow if blinkers are used. I also chose because of only having to have one power cable. Thank You. Regards Niklas
Very comparable between the two, the quality and the focus of the brand are perfect and give you exactly what you want/need as and when you need it I will say the MotoLights have more control over the beam patterns
The hex easy can is bike specific. Does that mean the moto can is also bike specific? I like the idea of only using one wire aswell. I wasn’t sure on the moto lights with the amber daytime lights but then you switched it to white. Decisions decisions 🙈
Yes, just like the EZCan it will be Bike specific I am like you and I love the ability to switch between Amber and White for the DRL I think for someone who wants both fog lights and spotlights, this is a great solution
Completely agree with you there - the RM1S is an incredible bike based on the already good RM1 but now with the performance we wanted…. If you get one we would love to hear about it
MotoLights (Smart light) looks promising, especially since they work with Hex ezBUS feature which reduces the number of harnesses & channels to only one,
How about slow speed stuff? Doing figure-eights for example, is it doable with just the e-clutch or would it rather require traditional, manual feathering of the clutch lever?
It is possible as it slips the clutch very well, positive throttle and some rear break will allow it to work great at slow speed Or if you prefer you can pull the clutch in yourself to override it at any point. Best of both worlds! :-)
It’s beautiful bike but for 6/7k you can literally buy a tiger 900 from a dealer second hand. Not sure kids with a CBT would appreciate its looks or afford it. Actual bikers won’t get one so your down to a very small market 65+ year olds who haven’t ridden before but they’ll probably go for an A2 Enfield for retro sheer.
Thank you for the comment and an interesting perspective - I guess it all comes down to taste, choice and what someone is looking for. The new R1MS is more suitable at 70mph
You forgot one neat feature of the overlander. If You are traveling over 1k km on a day, thanks to it's semirigid design, you can rest your back against it.
Nice one James I got to use mine in anger yesterday at Mallory after riding with one for 3 years. I dont have an airbag race suit but shoved it on over my 1 piece and its as close as I can get to an airbag race suit good few sessions on the track then. Next thing Off the bike bang bounce bounce bounce and all ok bit dizzy and a few WTF's. New canister and good to go again. 100% recommend these for any rider airbags work. We never choose when we are going to have a bad moment so best to consider it before it happens and make sure you wear it.
We camped with the Loner Rider Moto tent in a terrible thunderstorm once. Howling wind and rain but the tent took it in it's stride. Heartedly recommend it.
Thank you for the comments, this is a video dedicated to an interim chain clean, not a full detail on that section of the bike. It is aimed at people who are new to chains or want a better understanding of the basics of chain cleans. Thank you for your comments however and fantastic feedback for all concerned
