I could listen to that big 14 litre four cylinder turbo motor whistle all day long. Iv got a 17a sounds exactly the same, full hydraulics but with rippers on the back. At the moment she's resting. She dropped a tooth on the bullwheel in the finals and chewed up the intermediate pinion. Spares down here are sparse. Wish she was still going, Iv been doing all our dozer work on our other little D4 30a. The 7 is so much easier to operate and a lot more fun with ten times the power.. you can hear her whistling from three miles away especially when she's working hard. Much nicer sound than the later 6 pot jobs that rev higher. My old girl is flat out at 1050 rpm. Don't know why, but they keep on a luggin a lot better than the 6 cylinder ones. Maybe not as powerful but they just don't give up and die in the arse when ya ask too much from them. Much prefer. I wouldn't mind a torque converter like this ol girl has though and she looks as good as she sounds.
