@Thundercracker_14. Yeah, I wish they would have taken down less trees since at least it would add some extra scenery to the ride. Either way it is a pretty fun ride though and pretty re-rideable if the line is short.
At least to my knowledge, probably not since they don’t allow them on the rides at the amusement park. I haven’t heard anything about GoPro rules at the water park though, so you could ask guest services about it.
This ride is at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. One of my favorite amusement parks and Big Bear Mountain is one of my favorite family coasters too!😁
Haha, well I thought it would be worse and rougher later on. I’m happy that it wasn’t the case since I have ridden a fair amount of janky and rough wooden coasters.
Thank you! My last visit I had a little less time to film so some of my shots weren’t great. This time I got to film a lot longer, so I got more shots and I think the shots turned out pretty good! I do love Wildfire as well since it always delivers a good ride in the back especially during the drop!
@@itsdecentpovs2728 Definitely! I rode in the second row yesterday on the far right seat, and the drop felt less intense than the middle 😂 That was weird!
Have fun! The water park was very clean and the water slides were fun. Try to either go on the water coaster (River Rush) at the beginning of your visit when the park opens or right before the park closes since it does seem to have a longer line mid day.
I got it for the coaster credit and because I haven’t ridden many junior coasters before. It’s kind of a one and done ride for me, but I wouldn’t necessarily mind riding it again.
Probably! I honestly have never seen someone vomit and it hit someone else on the ride, but it sounds like it could happen. That would be an unpleasant experience to say the least.
Me too! I wish there were more S&S launch coasters. Those compressed air launches are so intense, and compare to the hydraulic launch coasters in my opinion. I think the history of Powder Keg is really neat, which also adds to the experience as well.
@@itsdecentpovs2728 Yeah, I remember when Buzzsaw Falls was there, but I don't think I rode it. It's hard for me to pick a favorite ride in the park, considering they're all so good! Although I must admit, I still haven't been on Outlaw Run...
The next time you visit you have to ride Outlaw Run! It’s my favorite coaster in the park for sure! Even though it’s short it packs a punch (but DO NOT ride on a wheel seat since the potholes ruin the ride). Was it by any chance down when you were there since I have seen the ride have more reliability issues than when I went back in 2018. Not sure why though, but I’m guessing the wooden structure might be part of it, and the ride aging might make the wood deteriorate more. That’s awesome you got to see Buzzsaw falls though, and I do have to say that the SDC coaster collection is great and very diverse!
@@itsdecentpovs2728 I think what's holding me back from riding is that you have almost nothing to hold on to 😐 And no, last time I was there, I got a video of it running. My plan as of now is to go back Sunday with my friend, so long as the weather holds out!
Ah okay. Most RMC’s don’t have anything to hold onto, but I think there is a little strap on the restraint that you could try and hold onto. Well, hopefully the weather stays clear from any storms and have fun at the park! 😄
Looks similar to Kingda Ka.... If it's anything like Kingda Ka expect it to be closed EVERY TIME you visit the park after being open for 5 or 6 months......
Top Thrill Dragster was pretty much a replica of Kingda Ka, just without the airtime hill at the end. Surprisingly I heard when TT2 was running there wasn’t much downtime, but obviously something happened, and now the ride has closed during their peak season which sucks.
I use to be a BIG CP fan !! Past tense…….the way they are handling this TT2 mess with no transparency, very little updates, no idea of when it will reopen is appalling in my opinion. They are leading there customers on so they won’t cancel there planned trips and ruin the season is pretty low down.
Yeah, I wish that Cedar Point just told us it was either closed or they would have a reopening date by now. From the lack of updates and what the updates say, it doesn’t sound good though. Not sure why Cedar Point decided to work with Zamperla though on Top Thrill 2 (since going from 100 foot coasters to 420 feet is a big jump) and why they pushed all the blame towards Zamperla. Cedar Point probably should have went with a bigger and more well known manufacturer. I know Cedar Point (as well as Cedar Fair) hates Intamin, but Intamin knew Top Thrill Dragster better than any other manufacturer since they created the ride in the first place. I really hope that TT2’s downtime will end soon though and the ride can get up and running again.
@ChrisPkmn Tony Clark did release a statement about TT2’s downtime not being a “summer long” issue like Haaspaul said. Also, Cedar Point still has advertisements up on the app and website saying “you can ride TT2” if you buy their seasons pass or other items.
@@itsdecentpovs2728”You get what you pay for……!” CP went with the lowest bid of Zamperla and now they are paying the price. But I hear the price was 15 - 20 million, so they didn’t save much anyway.
I would say no, but at this point with the lack of updates it might be possible that it could close for the rest of the season. I would imagine Cedar Point is working hard to get the ride back up and running though, so I still have some hope it might reopen soon.
@Ozzy_the_cat Well you aren’t wrong since most of the time that is true, but honestly I believe the testing is happening so they can find the source of the problem and how they can fix it. I think they have ordered some new parts for the trains, so the ride might open to the public sometime soon.
When did you go because it doesn’t look too busy? Wanna plan my vacation back to Pigeon Forge but last time I went in July and it was way too hot and crowded
I believe it was on July 10th of 2023, so on a Monday. I would always advise to go to water parks or theme parks on a week day to avoid the busy weekend crowds. I actually only had a few hours as well before the waterpark closed, and pretty much rode everything (except for some smaller kiddy slides). To be honest as long as you have a full day, I think you should be able to get on everything even on a weekend though from my experience. If you really need this, there is a Timesaver H20 Pass that is decently expensive, but it might be worth it if the lines are really long when you go. If you go on a weekday, you most likely won’t have to worry about it. Hope you have a good time when you go though!
Wish they would just give some sort of time table. It doesn't even have to be a hard set date. But if it's not opening in July, tell us. At this point it's dragging ppl through the mud hoping they don't cancel trips. I 💯 understand the counter argument that CP is a fantastic park even without TT2. Has a world class lineup. Being realistic however, this could and should be handled alot better. Fury was handled with full transparency as was Hyperia.
@@notathoosie they absolutely can so much better. They have put out 2 updates in the past month that have said absolutely nothing lol. Thorpe handled Hyperia with full transparency/class. There is SO MUCH negative discourse surrounding TT2 it is unreal. Hyperia wasn't nearly as bad bc the park kept ppl in the loop.
@@mattr3922 People were MAD after hyperia didn’t open on the scheduled reopening date the first time. Also the only reason we know what’s exactly wrong with hyperia is because people put all the clues together not because Thorpe park said the exact issue of what happened. Hyperia literally went down again this morning because it valleyed, and they didn’t put an eta for when it will open back up again because if they don’t meet that expected date, people are going to actually go insane like they did before when they promised a date/timeline.
Yeah, I agree. I hope they put out more updates, but from what it sounds like (at least from what the updates say) they don’t fully know what the source of the problem is (or problems). I’m guessing they are just trying to find the source of the problem, and by testing the coaster see what works and what doesn’t which could be why there is a lack of updates. Take that with a grain of salt though, since I don’t know what is really happening. I feel like if they knew what was happening, they probably would have posted a reopening date by now. One thing I do know is don’t make promises you can’t keep. I remember people being angry when Hyperia didn’t reopen as well on June 8th even though Thorpe Park said that Hyperia would reopen by then. With that said, I hope that Cedar Point can post a reopening date soon though, and they can get Top Thrill 2 up and running again. Also, hopefully Tony Clark isn’t wrong about TT2’s downtime not being a “summer long” issue.
It's possible, but depending on when you are going in July I would imagine it would be late July opening. I honestly think it might open in August though, but we don't know for sure.
Yep! It was about 3 hours after park close. I wasn’t even expecting them to do testing until maybe midnight, but I guess they decided to do it a bit earlier.
I really hope that Top Thrill 2 reopens soon !! Id love to ride on Top Thrill 2 this year in 2024 ! I'm coming up to Cedar point on July 11th 2024 and then again on August 27th 2024 ! I really hope that TT2 is reopened by then !!
@@lesliepearson7711 I don't know if it will reopen in July, but I feel like when you come back up in August you might get a chance to ride it! Hopefully we get some sort of reopening date soon though.
Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t think I will need to wear depends on the coasters lol, but there are some attractions that do freak me out a little more than others.
My favorite is Thunderbird, but Gatekeeper is a close second for me! The setting of Gatekeeper is really nice. I like Wild Eagle and the setting is also really nice since it is in the smoky mountains. I’ve gotten some rough rides on it sometimes so it is not my favorite. It’s a fun ride though, and the I like the first drop since it is pretty unique for a wing coaster rather than a wing over drop or the Immelmann like on Thunderbird.
i have road this coaster 108 times. it never gets old,. i first rode it in 1982, i was 10 years old..my most recent ride was yesterday 5/21/2024.i am 51 now.
@@itsdecentpovs2728 last summer I used the fast pass a few times and did 20 rides each day. For 2 days. Coulda got way more rides but wanted to ride other stuff. This summer I will do the same. Use fast pass and rack up rides. I’m at 108 right now. By the end of July I should be at 200 easily. I’m aiming for 500 rides. Just a personal goal I set for myself. And back then. It was pretty much like it is now. Not as rough tho. . Not much has changed. It’s been consistent over the years.
Well I’m glad that Kings Island has been keeping this ride maintained for so long especially since it’s a nice little gem at the park. Hopefully you can reach your achievement of getting 500 rides on it, and 102 rides on The Beast is pretty impressive!
@@Grey_Hybrid Oh, okay I see then. It is much smoother now, so it’s good to see that the park has maintained the ride pretty well recently. Did you get to ride Son of Beast by any chance?
This is a terrific wooden coaster, my all time favorite alongside the Grizzly at Kings Dominion (I think I read a while ago that they were designed by the same person)
Huh, I didn’t know they were built by the same person. I need to check out grizzly sometime in the future as I have heard great things about it after it’s retracking a few years ago.
I agree, a lot of the brakes on the ride that were added I guess though were to slow the ride down since sometimes it used to go faster and would put too much stress on the tracks.
Yeah, it’s definitely a unique coaster. Pretty much a dark ride and a coaster combined which is fun. I think the ride is awesome, but it is a little jerky in my opinion. Hopefully they do some retracking to the ride in the future to make it smoother. That’s awesome that your mom liked it, and some of my friends are scared of roller coasters. After they rode some of the coasters at my home park SFSTL they were happy they rode them as well.
Wow! I wonder how fast it rode back in the 1980s because I know over the past decade or two they added trim breaks which slowed the ride down a fair amount. That’s cool though, and I wish I could have experienced this coaster back in the glory days.
