certainly don't make movies like this no more hard hitting like this right from the intro and theme to the movie...so much stuff forgettable garbage nowadays for many reasons
The very first time I saw “Scarface (1983)” was in the summer of 1985. A friend rented this movie on one of those old VHS tapes. There were two tapes to this motion picture. So we all sat down, beers being consumed and lots of green leafy substance. He hooked his VCR to some fancy speakers. I could tell just by the way this motion picture soundtrack kicked off that this was going to be a violent-type movie. Gut feeling if you will. I have been told by folks in the past that the opening to the 1982 “The Thing” gives an eerie feeling the movie is horrific.
It perfectly sets the tone for the film. I demanded my father to buy me this film on VHS in 2004 when I was nearly 11 years of age. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life and the film’s aesthetic and art has lingered on in my memory to this day
Moroder is brilliant. He won an Oscar for Midnight Express. He just gets it. He takes on tough topics and evokes more power and emotion by his techno disco beat that just fits with the difficult subject matter. Thank you Mr. Moroder.
Ich bin geboren in Rumänien Im Ostblock Ich kam mit zwei Jahren nach Deutschland Ich weiß wie es ist dieses Gefühl nach Freiheit zu haben und doch fremd in dem gelobten Land zu sein
Most of the Cubans who arrived on the Mariel Boat Lift in American history are now very old or dead. May they rest in Paradise!!! I feel their struggle and their pain.
