(Dad of 3 outdoors) I'm just an average guy sharing some of my outdoor experiences I've captured over the years and adding hunts and adventures a little at a time!
Little late to the video and i see you already have a bunch of critics lol but you shouldnt put your gloved hand on the main line directly above your figure 8. If it slips it will suck your hand into it. time stamp 4:24
Mountainous* but close 😅 Monotonous would be a Kansas type terrain. Thanks for playing, though. And kids, PLEASE stay in school. ESPECIALLY if you have a less than intelligent accent.
Man that sounds good. I started off with the messenger from hooks didn’t like the tone of it then went to the one clay newcomb has through Phelps the akern and like it. I didn’t know you could message him and order I thought he just sold them through Facebook drops.
I've been using the same old Quaker boy grunt tube for like 20 or more years because it's the best sounding grunt call I ever used and like you I tried them all and I always go back to the old Quaker boy, but that call your using sounds dam good, I gotta grab one.
I don't have issues with my figure 8 but I will not deny that a device like the safe guard is just way easier to use but with some of the failure points I've seen on the safe guard, I think more people should look at devices like the mammut smart
I’ve got 2 original edge. They’re the best. Idk how they could get better…….& I see where you’re with latitude, well I got the Tx5 Lonestar before the owner went to Latitude. I had a Tethrd phantom saddle & I have a trophyline covert lite, my Tx5 is 1000’s better. Only if latitude would adopt the looks the Tx5, there product would be even better. Matthew Tompkins is great. I did like that magnet system on latitude 2 panel a buddy of mine had. Anyway, Moultrie Edge is Primo .
That thing looks pretty flimsy. Ida like to see the camera, with a lens on it, and see how much it bounces and bends when extended out. I’m sure it’s an ok option for guys with a small zoom cam like a Sony Ax53, but I wouldn’t toss a Sony body with a 70-200 on it. Fourth Arrow still the cream of the crop
I tried one of their newer models at the mobile hunter expo this year. They look nice. Used to run fourth arrow but got tired of the bulk. I run a zve10 with an 18-105 and its just about perfect
i had the same exact thing happen when i first started, stuck on a big pine close to my knot on a ropeman after dropping my stick on first move, 6 ft off the ground and stuck. luckily i had my linemans belt, turned it into a tether and tied a footloop and stood up to relieve ropeman. i now use a mammut smart 2.0 belay device on a rappel rope. I keep a couple of slings/loops with me still just incase shit happens.
Love your videos and like you even more finding out your an Android guy lol. 🍎 sucks. Keep up the great videos. Keep staying down to earth, straight forward no bs or trying to act like somebody your not. God Bless!
I lost my grandma in December. She was able to see last years buck tho. But man your video opened the flood gates. I won’t be able to show her this years but I know she’ll be with me like your grandpa is with you. Great video that’s what it all about. Good luck
TBH you can pack a deer out with that thing. Buy a Kuiu large bone out game bag. You can debone the meat and put it in that then put the meat bag on the little wing pouch on the outside of the pack thingy. Where you would typically carry sticks and platform. Use it as a meat shelf. Then you can strap your stick/s and platform to outside of the pack if you have to pack meat out.
@@do3outdoors741 I know that they are coming out with a tree transport system. I have a really good pack frame that I use to carry my stand. I just need a good pack to attach to the stand(it was just wishful thinking to think that the pack to actually carry the stand), but will also be good to hold the weight of a bunch of cameras for preseason and mid day scouting trips. This bag checks all of those boxes, so I will be awaiting the notification tomorrow for when they are available
@@do3outdoors741 yes sir no doubt! I run a hodgepodge setup with stuff from several different companies. Latitude, tetherd, cruzr and trophyline. All great companies with awesome products.
