Copenhagen Atomics pioneers thorium molten salt reactors, a groundbreaking solution that burns nuclear waste to generate abundant and cost-effective green energy. These compact and modular reactors, designed to fit the same area of a standard 40-foot shipping container, ensure scalability and easy deployment worldwide.
With a relentless focus on product development, Copenhagen Atomics has achieved groundbreaking milestones, including the creation of the world's first commercially available molten salt test loops and highly purified salts, catering to the needs of companies, universities, and national labs globally.
Our key milestone is to have our first reactor online by 2025.
I've been following the subject of Thorium powered nuclear reactors for 6 years with Kirk Sorensen and the Thorium Energy Conference 2018 in Brussels Belgium. Copenhagen atomics I believe in you!
A couple of things mentioned in the video that are really not valid points. 1. Nuclear Accidents and deaths It was stated that deaths are due to the evacuations themselves or failure to administer stable iodine tablets. That's like saying if I shoot you with a gun the real reason you died is because you were not wearing a flack jacket, the gun didn't harm you, it was the bullet you should have protected yourself from. Had the nuclear plants never been constructed no evacuation or administering of tablets would be necessary. Clearly if Chernobyl or Fukushima were wind and solar farms instead, then a disaster that would wipe them out (say a tornado or earthquake) would not require the evacuation around the wind or solar farm for hundreds of kilometers, nor would there be danger to the population close to those plants. Regardless I agree the total number of deaths from nuclear accidents is very small compared to other energy generation methods like coal or biomass. Blaming the accident remediation as the cause of deaths makes your argument less credible and puts a question mark on the Thorium technology. Collatereral damage is a direct result of operating the plants in the first place. 2. No humans in the Thorium plant for up to 50 years. I get that there are autonomous cranes and equipment so no human operators. However humans will need to enter the plant to maintain the autonomous systems. Cranes will not operate for 50 years without the need to perform either preventive maintenance (lubrication/cleaning/pest control) or repairs such as replacing burned out motors etc. The idea that humans would not need to enter the plant for the entire life of the plant is fantasy. At the very least there would need to be regular inspections. Minimizing human interaction is a good strategy, I get why that is good, but please don't overstate the case. It makes the technology less credible when you exaggerate like this.
I have a question. Does this means that you managed to eliminate the need of a driver fissile component to generate the chain reaction required to have U-233? You say you can use PU-239 as igniter, but not that it's required(as it used to be) to initiate and maintain the nuclear chain reaction. Thanks in advance.
Copenhagen Atomics have build a reactor, just not a nuclear reactor. They have not fissioned a single atom of thorium yet. But they have made some lovely videos and burnt through a ton of investors' money
So instead of making big ones, make small one that say can power a car or a home and on so on in order that the energy companies are eliminated. Much greater over return than catering to the bandits. Tha would also free up enormous sums of money after they're all up and running. Plenty of free energy devices (50,000+) already patented which forbidden production. See they only like the ones that are detrimental because you're talking about satan and it's minions running the show. Stand with God and tell them to f off, there's not a damn thing they can do.
Only 1000X? Bit conservative, but that's good for doing basic calculations. Nanotechnology is kept quiet about its uses, but the gross attributes of block circuits for specific purposes is easily deduced by Electronics Engineers with a bit of Epicyclic experience.
i agree, but the issue is that $100 of thorium would become $1,000,000 of thorium if just one country adopted it as their source of energy... let alone the whole world. supply wouldnt be able to keep up with demand and the prices would SKYROCKET.
It would be wonderful for your thorium reactors to provide the performance described. Nuclear power is the only long term energy solution for a ravenously power hungry world. I’m much more concerned about AI than I am Nuclear.
Copenhagen Atomics, perhaps I missed it, what sort of volume of waste (300 year storage waste) is produced from a plant powering a neighborhood, town, city etc ?
I've been hearing about this for decades. If it hasn't happened by now it's either snake oil or it's being suppressed by the big energy companies. Whichever it is, why should we expect anything will change?
Your for the ppl until govt offers you a fat stack of cash- then you will sell us out! and we don't need these hideous plants- go back to TESLA engineering!! Simple. Clean. Efficient.
this is something that's been known for awhile ,they chose not to go this type of radiant energy simply because it couldn't be weaponized , the later part is not only my honest opinion. there's an article, study or video floating around that details how to make a car that can run a 100 yrs.
Good news indeed. The sooner CA get their first demonstration unit up & running for all to see the better, together with realistic prices, time scales for delivery, installation & full operation.
30 people didn't die from the disaster of Chernobyl? Some died from blast trauma and others died from acute radiation, radiation induced cancer. Radiation is actually a problem radiation is like a microwave on your cells which essentially cooks your cells. Im not saying nuclear energy aint cleaner than the other energy sources. The process makes it safer do to how we process the energy unlike burning fossil fuels etc. if nuclear energy was 100% safe the world order wouldn't use them as weapons. Even hydrogen has radiation. But anyways i say fuck all the world leaders and start a new world order! Ive already designed an empire that has its own energy, designed a way to make our cities much safer, wont have to worry about gun violence, and significantly reduced car accidents, designed a way for people to have all the essentials free, homes, travel, food, medical, education. Sure you wont be given a mansion or luxury car or eat at very high gine dining unless you contribute to society! I removed human error for law enforcement meaning no humans will ever be law enforcement! They wont need to use deadly force wont need to use guns meaning i wont ever have any guns aiming at my people! My goal is to build a better safer and more prosperous future!
Totally nuts. Loony comparisons. Ridiculous claims. This guy is certifiably insane. This alliance hasn’t split a single atom, yet they have all the answers. It would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.
Even if energy fuel was 100% free, how much is the cost to distribute it around a city and maintain that infrastructure? Until we can get "unlimited" energy generators at every home or business there will likely always be a monthly cost we can't get past. I guess the concession might be a fixed monthly bill for everyone no matter how much energy is used.
