I attended the European convention in Cork in Ireland as a student and loved every minute of it. It was wonderful to get to aee Dr Suzuki in action, such a wonderful teacher ❤️
Dear friends, colleagues and supporters of the International Music Teacher Exchange, Here is a small gift that I hope will bring special joy to you, your students and their families: I Pray to the Power of Love (German title: Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe) by the Ukrainian composer Dmitri Bortniansky (1751 - 1825). Even in these dark months we can perceive the "POWER of LOVE". It is a gift that becomes even greater when we pass it on to others. You can find the FREE DOWNLOAD (sheet music and audio recording) in our IMTEX media library here: www.imtex-online.com/mediathek/media-library/195.html/ It would be great if you or your students would play this song. Of course, we would especially appreciate a recording that we would be happy to post on our IMTEX Facebook page. Have a great time playing this beautiful music! Kerstin Wartberg
Hello Jonathan, it's not me. This is a girl from Denmark, where the first European Suzuki Conference took place. I was already studying in Japan with Dr. Suzuki at that time. But I traveled with him to Denmark for this workshop and then back to Japan. It was a wonderful time with so many experiences.
Some parents are looking for videos for their little Twinklers to watch and play along with. Sadly, the children in this video disappear after 19 seconds, and they don't reappear until second 42 near the end of the video. From second 20-42, here's just a sign for the children to look at. Otherwise the BALL is a great idea!
Almost all exercises are in the Step by Step books. But a few are also in the book "Enjoying Violin Technique". Here you can find some information (text and video) about this book: www.imtex.info/istex/downloadshop1/artikelread.php?id=192

Beautiful! Love the Suzuki program. Wish we could have something like that here in rural Africa where we work. Kerstin would you recommend a mother to teach her own kids? They are 4 and 7. is 7 too old to start on a violin? I wanted to start him on the piano but the piano never came and there are no music schools in a 400 km radius from us.
Learning the violin at 7 is not too late! I started when I was 8, and a friend of mine is 24 and she is a beginner. Do you have any experience playing the violin?
+silver_cupcake yes I started when I was 5 and had lessons till 16. But since I am working in Africa now there aren't any music schools or teachers in our town or 100 km radius.
Orlando, Florida. I used to play suzuki violin, but had to stop due to a wrist injury a few years ago. Now, I am a part Bach Festival Society Winter Park as a choir member. I am getting ready to pick up the violin again soon.
Thank you! I have even thought about becoming certified to become a suzuki violin instructor, but before I do that I want to practice for at least a year and I will start again this summer
