This was solid "A" video until I got to the load testing segment - then I felt I needed to change its grade. A+ This is how carpentry/construction videos should be done.
An electric winch with remote control might have the advantage of your being able to run from the ground or from the roof, however, will cost more and require power on the job. Nice to see someone put drill to use to raise, lower it. With rechargeable drill, would not even need 110-volt volt power. Thanks for sharing, superiorhandyman.
A little optimistic. The real time was 6 hours to get the stuff to the roof and 38hr's over about 2 weeks mostly late afternoon to dark, to sheet and shingle, soffit and fascia, a 16' by 30' 8/12 camp (my own). What can I say I'm old.
@@superiorhandyman LOL, I've seen that plenty of times where I live. When I see jobs being done like that I kinda feel sorry for the home owner but then again that home owner probably chose the cheapest bid so they got what they paid for.
Thank you ! After half a century in the trades, and 3 Red seals, 1 as a carpenter I should know better. My only excuse is since my early 50's I have worked alone, what I consider safe for my uses (knowing the possible out come) may not be safe for others lacking the experience. Using L brackets have been added to the header. Since you have the equipment maybe you should make a video on its safe use, people may like this. After all as a pro you know its not 3 letters that make a tool safe it's training, and the proper care of the equipment. P.S. I make a mean oatmeal cookie.
@@atlasshrugged7446 and i wouldnt hire you to mow my lawn nevermind pay you to show up with that mess to do my roof! Cleary atlas shrugged......your not a roofer....stick to your day job! Leave it to the professionals like myself!
just noticed that it does matter if you choose paint brush or pencil as well. in the video, sup'h'man says you can use either one. if you use pencil (with new gear brush), though, you get jaggies on the diagonals of the gear teeth. if you use paint brush (with new gear brush), you get smooth edges.
i just followed the video again, and this time, for the brush creation, i made the background transparent. the first time i had the background white. using transparent background fixed the jaggies problem on the edges of the brush - i guess something is different in the lasso selection process when you select on transparent vs white background. now my brush looks like sup'h'man's. (and my gear is smooth)
great video - thanks! i got a smooth inner circle, but my gear teeth are jaggy. i think it has to do with aliasing at edges of the brush - my brush looks a bit jaggy on the diagonals, more jaggy than the one in superiorhandyman's video. i also get some bits of white between some of the brush segments, maybe also related to the edges of the brush.
Hi, sorry came with 2.8.2 if you need crown molding grad. try www.gimphelp.org/scripts/edges_picture_frame.shtml nice there sites like this, Haven't used it myself but the zip file has the grad.
Interesting. Is there also a brush to avoid the lines at the the "spikes"? Also you could have taken even thinner ellipses as holes in the gear to make them appear circular in the result. Another thing you could have added: Make a background in the Gear! Try to make it a real object and not just a structure of circles.
Problem seems to be scaling, to narrow,(less than 50pix) and you get spaces. Not sure how to fix the problem other than filling with bucket tool. I'm a woodworker/millwright, just like to play with software tools to see what happens
Same problem as MovieMad007 below.. followed exactly and only get the two short bars.. AND I do not get the slider feature popup? What version of Gimp are you using? I'm on 2.8.1.. It's a nifty process but something is amiss...
Hi - I can't get this to work - I end up with only 2 bars on either side (left and right) coming about only 1/3 of the way down the picture..... where am I going wrong???
Hi Superiorhandyman! Thanks for Your Tutorial! I made one similar to your, cause is based on your tutorial, full credits to You! I hope that You Like the Mine as I liked your. ( Sorry I don't speak very well English eheh ^^' )
