Yes there are many muslims in China and they will try to conquer China too iif they get a chance. The Chinese know this and wisely imprison them to prevent it.
Super slick production.... but I learned little and saw virtually nothing of Yunnan. It’s like this is all about video shooting and production technique. Zero content.
Fascinating to see Mengzi's rich blend of history and culture, especially its French railway heritage! Has anyone else been inspired to visit or explore more about Yunnan after watching this? It's amazing how travel videos like this can open up new worlds right from our screens!
This is not the 'real' Shangari-La. The name was taken by the city of the then Zhong Dien for tourist purposes. The real Shangari-La is the white mountain, Mei Li Xeu Shan, although mythical this is much more like the Shangari-La that James Hilton envisaged. To go there take the route to Upper Yubeng, far away to the north and west, to the mountain range bordering Myanmar, Tibet and Assam. Go to Deqan and from there to Upper Yubeng by 4-wheel drive to the border of the protected area and then the obligitory Landcruiser to Upper Yubeng. You won't be disappointed.
It's hard to say where the real Shangri-La was likely located, but this place named Shangri-La in Yunnan province is definitely a pretty stunning area, with Meili Snow Mountain, as you mentioned, reaching 6700 meters altitude. It's the tallest mountain in the province.
I made on error on that trip itenerary Rock Forest????? Stone Forest, what was I thinking. We had a delicious lunch in Anning and went to that Stone Forest, I am told the chances of anything like that happening again would be on the next planet like earth that forms POSSIBLY. That place is extremely RARE!! China is so beautiful with incredible places. I will return there to Yunan again one day for SURE!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless you, country, & people! Ray C USA for now. I am looking for a home, land, or a place to live near my great 'sister' in Yunyang. I love that small city as it is so beautiful with the Great Yangtze and its parks. Ray C
I'm curious about the history of Yunnan in the 1920s and 30s. My great-grandparents were missionaries there in Kunming. I am looking for anything about what the region was like during that time so I can try and visualize their experience and the experience of the people they interacted with.
That’s interesting. There are some stories and historical photos on the website www.gokunming.com You can have a look through the article archives. Hope that helps!
Do you know if that riverside pavilion restaurant still exists? I've booked my ticket for april 2024 and was really hoping I could go there! it looked pretty yummy!!! If not what would be your not to be missed restaurant in Yunnan? Cheers from montreal! Love your videos
Unfortunately, I'm not certain if it is still around - it might be time for another visit to check it out! But don't worry, Heshun and the whole of Tengchong's culinary scene is fantastic across the board. One must-try is 大救驾 (dàjiùjià), or 'save the emperor,' a unique fried rice cake dish that locals love. Thanks for following us. We'll be releasing more new content soon!
Thank you very much for making this short film. It’s very interesting for my since my roots from hui Muslims. My grand-grandfather has moved to Kyrgyzstan. My dream is to visit places of my ancestors 🙏🏻
