Mötley Crüe and The Cult had a thing very much in common. Both released a self titled album in the 90's which are possibly the worst in their discography while their fans just wanted more of what had made them great. Moral of the story: Fcuk the fads of the times.
Sad thing is by the next year Jamie Stewart would be fed up and leave and eventually Ceremony would be released and the 90's would not be kind to them.
I miss my friend Matt Garrett seen here playing bass , he was a great guy , great sense of humor , and a great musician , he had a healthy ego ...no ' Rock -Star ' bullshit .Sadly he O.D.ed some years back after moving back to L.A. from Taos N.M. where I worked with him and were roommates for a while , I knew I would never see him again...boo-hoo !...true friends are rare these days because so many people are narcissistic morons obsessed with their sexuality or ' gender '....R.I.P. Matt !!
Great band , but boy these rock stars talk some bollox , why can’t he just say I want to write some good music and make lots of money , shag loads of birds and get pissed 😏
First song listen here 1985, I’m 30 old, and loved the CULT💁today 2022,is always happy, pleasure seeing theirs, IAN voice rest so wonderful💙Lovely’s ❤️🇫🇷
I could listen to Ian talk about music for hours while looking into those beautiful green eyes! 😍 oh maaaan I am head over heels in love with him all over again 💕 😍 30 years on I still adore Ian Astbury ❤
Perhaps Ian could write a book about Rock music! He knows a damn sight more than the hack music journalists who labelled the Cult 'goth'! Southern Death Cult were PUNK! Post punk perhaps but never ever 'goth'! The Mission were goth.
A friend gave me an old CREEM Doors special edition magazine and lo and behold there's a photo of Jim Morrison wearing the exact same hat. I guess the 'Wolf Child' was taking his Morrison fixation even further at this time.
