Welcome to my channel! I am a work-at-home mom/speech therapist/private practice owner. I share about lifestyle, parenthood, and travel (heavy on the Disney!). Just a Midwest girl trying to find adventure in the everyday. Subscribe to follow along!
You’re a high income earner and I’m a two income household complaining about school supplies. And you feel it’s too much, but you’re pregnant with a kid who will also go to school. The teachers need those supplies to teach your children. Stop complaining
I am not a high income earner, and we are not a two income family. I quit my job two years ago to be a stay-at-home mom. I was once a teacher and a school-based SLP, so I know how badly they need the supplies, but I was more complaining about how expensive things are these days. I am not some rich woman complaining. Our family is struggling to get by, just like so many others.
I am so happy that you loved the book by Abby Jimenez. Part of your world is one of my favourites, the others in the series are awesome as well, she is a wonderful writer, I hope you get the chance to read them and enjoy them as well. 😊
Thank you!! I’m actually halfway through “Yours Truly” right now, and loving it too!! I’m going to read every single one of her books, they are so sweet!!
That’s great I have a few more to go, but I’m going to try and read all her stuff as well, hope you do another book review once you have finished some more of her books, I would definitely enjoy hearing your thoughts on them. My favourite book of all time is Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan, not sure if you have read it, I definitely recommend it if not. 😊
My daughters favorite Miss Rachel song is “I love a rainbow” and also icky sticky bubblegum 😂 it’s so funny when she’s singing it around the house. She also asks to watch “commercial” because she confuses it with “miss Rachel” 🤷🏼♀️
Yikes! my parents just got back from staying near Cocoa Beach, Florida for the winter, and they say the same thing 😬. It seems like a shock to me because I’m used to it being so much lower, but I should be happy its not higher! The cost of living here is pretty low.
@@itsjessinthemidwest yeah you were talking about bad weather and we don't have that here, so I guess it's a trade off, lots of sun but not a lot of money LOL
Hello, I just found your video on RU-vid. I’m also from the Midwest. I also have a RU-vid channel it’s large family chaos. Great video by the was the treats looked good.
I love the water bottle idea! That's actually the first thing I buy my foster kids because most of them don't have great access to water to drink. That looks like a similar brand to the one I get too. I just pull it up and let them pick their favorite brand. Super durable and they take them everywhere!!
Hi!! What a great informative video! I couldn’t find the link to the neck fan you brought with you. I’m also really interested in the “snacking for two.” Shirt you were wearing. It looks like an actual pregnancy top where a lot of the T-shirts on Etsy are just normal sizes. Would you be able to link those two items by any chance? I’m going with my daughter and I want to put together a lining for her, these items would be perfect!
Thank you!! Here is the link to the fan: FrSara Neck Fan, Bladeless Neck Fan,Upgraded 5200mAh,Long Endurance,Upgraded air volume,Easier to Use,360° Cooling,No Hair Twisting,Non-Slip Material,Rechargeable,3-Speed a.co/d/hcEJyw3 My mom made the “snacking for two” shirt with her Cricut. She used an svg file from Etsy found here: www.etsy.com/listing/1319894323/ And the shirt I bought was just a tank top from Walmart…it actually wasn’t a maternity shirt, but runs kind of big and flowy. I don’t have the link to the exact top because I bought it last summer in store. I can’t seem to find the exact shirt, but it was similar to this: www.walmart.com/ip/Athletic-Works-Women-s-Core-Active-Racerback-Tank/193261205 Have a great time!!
Thank you so much!! It takes a long time to straighten when it’s this long, but it’s fun every once in awhile ☺️. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!
I think “What Lies Beneath” was so shocking because Harrison Ford was actually a bad guy. Not his typical role, lol! I was so surprised about “The Others” as well. And yes, movies aren’t as good now, although I am also getting older and am perhaps looking back with nostalgia, haha.
“Behind Her Eyes” had such a shocking twist! You’re so right! It was such a creepy twist, as well. I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I read it! I have never heard of Riley Sager; I’ll have to check her out. Thanks! I always felt “Where the Crawdads Sing” had a great twist, although my sister thought the ending was obvious, lol.
Totally agree! You’ll have to check out Riley Sager. I would suggest any of his books except for maybe Survive the Night or The House Across the Lake (both still good, but not as good as his others, in my opinion). And YES, “Where the Crawdads Sing” had such a great twist!! It is my favorite book of all time! I actually had it on this list, but then switched it out because I was focusing more on creepy books since it’s almost Halloween, but that’s another one that I couldn’t stop thinking about afterwards.
I love Riley Sager! I’ve read all of his except Last Time I Lied, so I definitely need to add that to my TBR! It looks like we have very similar reading tastes! Thanks for the recommendations
The soup recipes look really good. Looking forward to trying them out! Side question- we are not fans of tomatoes in this house, do you think the tortilla soup would still be good without the diced tomatoes?
You keep saying your house is small but it always looks huge to me. I mean, you have a dining room! A room just for dining in!! That's awesome!! I have 3 kids, my husband & myself, and my brother-in-law living in 1,400 sq feet and we thought we had it made because we have 2 bathrooms 😂 And I know your kitchen's out dated but I've seen it in a few videos now and it looks massive as well. It's probably a difference in location. I think homes here just tend to be smaller.
That is a lot of people in a small space! I think it's all relative. Ours is about 1600 square feet, but there is just 1 full bathroom (and a small, half bath connected to our bedroom). The kitchen, dining room, and living room are all a pretty decent size, but the bedrooms are on the smaller size. I guess it feels small to me mostly because we are running out of storage space 😆. We live out in the country where there are a lot of really large farmhouses, so I guess ours feels small compared to that ☺
What a fun list of recommendations. Casper is still a favorite of mine! I would definitely check out Spookley the Square Pumpkin if you haven't. There is a book series and a movie. It's a favorite with my girls. 🧡
Place your faith on Jesus. Jesus died so that you can have everlasting life. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one gets to the Father but by him. Trust Jesus. Repent. Call Out to Jesus Have a good day.
Aww, that’s awesome!! Good luck with everything ☺️. It can be stressful, but is a great profession I think, because it’s so flexible, and can be very rewarding ❤️
Hi Jess! The algorithm brought up one of your videos for me. I'm assuming because you're a mom and do speech. I'm a foster parent and all 3 of my kiddos need speech right now but there are a lack of speech therapists in my area so we've had to wait a very long time to get in. I love seeing what you do and how I can try to incorporate that at home while we wait for a specialist. Thank you for posting!
Aww, that can be rough! I live in a rural area, and we have the same issue here - most of the big speech therapy places have wait lists for months and months, which is a big reason why I decided to start my small private practice. Good luck with everything, and I hope they are able to get in somewhere soon! Are they in school yet? Usually schools provide speech therapy as well, if that helps! Or if they’re younger, you could look into early intervention!
@@itsjessinthemidwest They aren't in school. One is in early intervention and the other 2 are old enough they could be in preschool but they have to be potty trained to go and 1 is not. Plus I work in the next town over and can't figure out how I could get them there during the work day. The one who is potty trained is going to a preschool near where I work and finally got into speech right next door :D
You've Got Mail is my favorite movie!! I love The Shop Around the Corner and her Apartment. I think I have watched it over 1,000 times!! When Harry met Sally is also a favorite! Oh my Yes to Step Mom! The two women learn to respect and love each other. My Daughter and I love Gilmore Girls! I still watch it.
